I think a team should be immediately dispatched to the rule breaker's home to administer a severe beating. LolWhy are people getting points for breaking rules? One would think they should get demerits.

Seriously, my biggest problem with TalkBass is that I spend too much time talking. I need to join something called PracticeBass![]()

Stepped on a turd while wearing my Red Ball Jets.
Do I use a popsicle stick or a butter knife?![]()
I want desperately at times to make some good spirited, and (I think) funny, jokes over in the effects forum. I dare not ever attempt that again. Just looking at the avatars of some of the posters hanging out there is enough to tame me.
I also shut off notifications to the classifieds and one particular artist forum here. The 2 unsubscriptions saves me a lot of time, money and aggravation. I'm not ascaired of those 2 places though. Just know it's better for me to keep out.
Effects I'm ascaired of.
How about you?
And yes, I know there's no such word but I like it.
But many here take TalkBass way too seriously. They cannot tolerate people disagreeing with them
I actually got suspended for saying that I have no interest in playing a 4 string bass because I only play 5 string basses.
Many here need a chill pill.
I am completely comfortable with the fact that people disagree with me and have different opinions ... As long as they don't try to shut down my free speech.
I took some theory (and forgot much more than I remember) but alot of guys over there spew out theory off the tops of their heads like I spew out lines from Caddyshack.
the mods locked the ask a pro forum that I treaded softly in, no, I didn't carry a big stick, but, I don't play a short scale bass either,(be)cause and effects.
Tend to stay away from the ask forum. Not because, it's the person being asked, but because of the vile posted asked against the asked.
Haven't found the Rosetta stone to the secret languages used in jazz, I mixed up about the mixalodian, quit exploring the Dorian, the modes need to written in greek, that way we know its a secret.

There is no "free speech" on a privately run forum when said speech is against either the spirit or the letter of the site rules.
The job of the site moderators is to enforce the rules of the site. They donate their time to do this because they believe in the mission of the site. Without their good work, this site would be like so many other sites where every other discussion devolves into a commercial cesspool or a political distance urination contest. People tend to like Talkbass because the site rules attempt to limit discussion to topics of common interest that can hopefully be discussed in a civil manner. Those who feel the rules go too far are welcome to discuss the matter at the site's help desk. Criticizing the site moderators or their actions in the public forums, however, is not allowed under the current site rules.
pretty much anything we say can get us suspended
Post count bullies

Wanna-be moderators and admis (who ARE NOT actually mods or admins)
"You didn't introduce yourself" idiots
"No pic, it didn't happen" weenies
"Dupe Guys" and I've said it before, I KNOW there is a secret thread where fabulous prizes are doled out for the first guy to call "DUPE!" Why else would these lunatics be so eager to embarrass someone else?
And there is a ~special~ place in Hell (well, there would be if Hell existed) for The Tools who belittle others for knot knowing something "obvious," or that The Tool has known for years.
Keyboard warriors, every forum has them. They treat people on the Internet like crap, but would NEVER do it in real life because they would be friendless, or worse yet, beaten to a pulp.
I'm not "ascarid" of any forum, because I just ignore the aforementioned morons.
At least you aren’t angry about it.![]()
Fact, I'm one of those "well-meaning" jerks, who is fully aware that he is a complete jerk, so no anger, just full of opinions, which I will cheerfully share.
