AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

Thats 1kw per side... each in their own chamber... the 5s are tweeter.
Build in tilt back handle/wheels... it appears i keep stepping up in the cabs with this 15 tho. Im curios to a/b these just to see how the low end responds. This TC is something else... but I've also never had that LDS in my bedroom! Ha

Also, any idea if I can get these orange plugs locally? I've got 2... but I know of at least 2 stages ill want the others!

I still have the originals that came with mine but I am pretty sure that they are standard “plumbing” plugs.

Not that it’s not impressive, but I read it as 2 18s, 2 10s and a 5. Glad you found a light substitute.

Up = fullrange top end; down = gentle top-end rolloff starting at about 3.5 kHz.

So with the toggle switch in the down position you are still getting some output through the horn. Switch down reduces string noise and makes the cab more distortion-friendly. Not that the Thunderchild cabs are particularly distortion-friendly even under the best of circumstances; the Hathor cabs with their paper cone midranges are better suited for that.

I ran an MB 800 into my TC 115 v.1 many times, outside, with and without PA support. ...no problem whatever. It never even sounded like it was working hard. Beautiful box when you can open it up - - bit much for small clubs though. Get yourself an AK 112 for that.

So... what's the wait list looking like? This thing is amazing and what everyone says about different bass characteristics coming thru is totally legit. I have some "different" fender basses, almost Frankenstein basses and everything sounds just killer. Haven't got it in a band mix yet, but thats coming tomorrow and I'm excited to see what this thing can do! I already know I need to get a Hathor, esp with the surround dispersion stuff going on... gonna have to think a lot about 15 or 12... I was expecting this 15 to be smaller, but was pleasantly surprised by the size! My rack case fits just fine on top. WOW it sounds so good. Extremely glad a pulled the trigger on it. I really didn't "need" any more cabs and have some light ones, but they pale in comparison. Not even close to the same league. Looks like I should probably unload 3 or 4 of em now

Also on another note, looks like I might start putting some money aside next year to get another Changeling 112 or a Hathor. We shall see what the year brings...

Mr LeJeune is the man and I very much recommend a Changeling Can't go wrong with either though

Yo, JerBo: "Poor Man's Meyer Sound" is my riff on the Thunderchildren - what a hoot to learn that it has helped you find your way to Audiokinesis! I have an original 4-ohm Thunderchild 1-15, and a Hathor 1533 with a rear tweeter. Both are truly great cabinets, and they bring different things to the table. Enjoy!

I second the AK TC cabs. Tried the Hathor 12, 1533 and Changeling 12 and the horns on the TC cabs are so smooth and even.
Great choices.

I love my TC15. The rear firing horn adds a 3d dimension. Previously used Mesa Subway Cabs. Like the soundstage provided by the TC.

I'm doing the waffle shuffle.

I've got one H-1203T and absolutely love it.

I've got another one on order.

But something in me says get the C-112T instead for both the basement rehearsal space as well as for doubling up with the H-1203T in medium-sized venues.

Not sure how the C112T paired with the H1203T would sound, but it can't be that bad hey?!

It's a nice dilemma to have.
