Barber Linden EQ • New small form factor

I even got to pick the enclosure, colors, layout, and knobs. Doesn’t get any better than that.

Awesome. I had a bike frame I built powdercoated Azure Blue. It reminded me of that.
That’s funny.
When I was a kid my sister had a Schwinn bike in an azure blue. I adored that color. And it always frustrated me that (back in those days) girls bikes were always blue and boys bikes were always red…unless you were a rich kid who owned one of those fancy 3-speed “English Racers” in which case it was either jet black or what we knew as “British Green.”
One of the reasons I picked that blue (thank you Mr. Broughton!) is because it was very close to the color of that bike I never had.
The other reason is that it’s Alex’s favorite color. So since I named it after her, I figured it should also be in her favorite color. And wouldn’t you just know that she (being a girl) had a Schwinn bike in that color when she was s kid.

Just got mine in from @HoochfromParis! Only spent little time with it yet but i really really like it so far.
It’s tonesweetening reminds me of the magic the Cali76 CB imparts, only sans compression. Very cool! Very musical and articulate.
Through headphones/interface i didn’t hear a difference between the left and middle positions of the input filter switch though. I have yet to listen to this pedal through an amp.

I am still digging mine. Depending on which bass/amp combo I use, it bumps all my other pedals off the board.

I was going to try an Aguilar DB925..for a simple preamp. But after reading a few of these threads, I just sent an email to David Barber. This looks great!

Timely! I just properly discovered this pedal... and while I juuuust got on the waiting list for an exceptional compact preamp pedal, both this and that one are so wildly affordable that I could literally buy both and have twice the amount of pedal as I would with a lot of single pedals (that cost twice as much).
So, yeah. I might be eyeballing this closely......

The Linden is a fantastic EQ. Definitely one of my favorite pedals too. I'm looking forward to hearing you folks' thoughts on it after you get some time with it. I've tried and flipped a lot of pedals in the quest for tone and the Linden will always be part of my kit.
That's good to know. I am new to tone-shapeing, but would rather skip all that and go straight to a keeper!

Came today. What a pedal! Immediately a much sweeter tone. Loving having the shaping switch to the right. As the manual says , removes the 'clank' and allows for more treble. So sweet. With finger style it smooths everything out and loses nothing.
Very happy.
One question, see very simple pedal board below. Any advice on having hpf/lpf before or after preamp? I'm thinking after. But does it matter either way?

Kickin' setup! In this case, it really doesn't matter what order they're in. It CAN matter, like in the case of a pedal that generates more low frequencies (octave, some fuzzes, some detune/chorus pedals, some ring mod etc pedals, etc etc), but here, the EQ will just happily work with whatever's given to it, be it pure bass that's later filtered or a signal with sub frequencies already filtered out.
Cool thanks! Yeah that's what I figured. It either shapes then cuts, or cuts then shapes. Either way, same outcome.
What a fantastic little pedal! A tone shaping monster. I was pleasantly surprised. I find it does something to the tone. It doesn’t necessarily color the tone but it brings out the clarity. I don’t think this thing will be moving anytime soon. Bravo David!
