OK here goes:
KBP4 Standard in aged Olympic white with EMG's... yes EMG's the only one. I built it for the EMG booth at Bass Player Live show this weekend.
KPB4 Classic maple neck ash.
LG4 Classic in Sunburst that unfortunately for me is "Show Worn" So I will have to discount it but the bass is killin.
LG4 Classic Dakota Red "BUT" the neck on this bass belongs to another bass, so at some point a matching headstock neck will be ready for it.
LG5 Classic Supreme Inca Silver. I cut the neck back in NYC. It has that old Brazilian rosewood board from that old stash. We rebound the neck here at this shop and the inlays are 7mm celluloid... so the bass is modeled after a late '65 or early '66. It also has a Aguilar 3 band. The bass is really hi ticket but incredible!!!
LM5 "Used" yes this was Jason's Bigg Redd with the 12th fret inlay. Ash with rosewood board. This was the most popular bass at the show for whatever reason... I think everyone must have seen the photo's on Talk Bass that Jason posted.
Also I have a burgundy mist KBP4 Classic not show.

This past Saturday I played my LG through an Epi UL110/112 mini stack and an ultralight 500W head. All I got to say is, boy did I have fun with that. Big focused B string, lively and full from low to high, strong D and G strings, really punchy and dynamic big round clear sound, I literally had great bass tone anywhere I went on the board. I ran pretty much fully blended all night**, just boosting the bass a little, and from time to time, the treble as well. Passive tone control pretty much wide open most of the night. Damn that was fun.
I figure most folks around here remember my bass, but it's been a while, so just in case, if you don't mind me posting up a little once more, it's this one (totally straight up LG5, no special options at all!):
**As a side note, this particular venue is BRUTAL to electronics, and I mean BRUTAL. Even humbucking systems will buzz and sizzle if they aren't really well shielded and properly grounded (both in pickup design as well as bass construction). I have to say the AC is just stellar on this front. Obviously, I couldn't really solo one of the pickups, BUT, fully blended, and even "mostly blended", it was fine... even in that place, and let me tell you, that is a major accomplishment. Quite frankly, because I hate hum and buzz so much, this is a criteria for a "core" instrument for me... one I know I'll never have a "venue issue" with, making it an assured "safe bring". Trust me when I say I have some top tier instruments I can't play in that venue, or venues like it (there is more than one I have to deal with).

Hahah cool! I'm with you on the hum and buzz thing. I had a EB/MM Bongo once that I loved which I thought was pretty decent with interference. Well, one night I played this absolutely ancient church and spent the entire night facing 45 degrees to the audience in a 2 square foot area because that is the only way I could get it to stop humming like crazy!

hey im having the exact same dilemma im just about to get my new ac but it already has a aguilar 3 band in it. whats everyones thoughts on both of them. jimmy says hes happy to change it to his though if i dont like it.
also should i get a IGIG tweed gig bag or a hard shell case
I would stick with the Alleva preamp IMO they are magical and part of the entire vibe of Jimmy's basses.
I agree,,especially going with a LG since the vibe I assume your going for is sounds like a old fender. While I don't know for sure I've heard the aggie hits the same freq's as a sadowsky but with more gain So.....
The only tone I know of thats that combo is mid 80's Will Lee when he used a old Fender with a Bart/Sadowsky Pre...Like on Hiram's cover of Funky Broadway,,,,Its a awesome tone but kinda unique.
So I'm saying if you got a LM and wanted more Marcus maybe the Aggie but.....
Just ignore the man behind the curtain.

Admittedly, I don't have a lot of experience with Alleva Coppolo basses with OTHER preamps...
But when I first got my Coppolo, I was very surprised by how much that preamp was a part of that Coppolo sound I love.
Because the preamp can be defeated by pulling up on the bridge pickup knob, I don't know why anyone would want to replace the onboard preamp. Seriously, if want something different, just by pass the onboard preamp and use one of the many excellent outboard preamps.
That would work, wouldn't it?
Has anyone done any recording with their A-C? Wondering if the single coil hum is about the same, less, or greater than normal vs. other jazzes
