I am excited for you, that is a GORGEOUS bass! And seeing what other basses you have and are used to, I can confidently predict that you are going to be AMAZED at your BN5. Truly.

I have longed for an Fbass with finish since the first time I saw a photo of Tom Bowlus's. Yeow!

Ordinarily I'm so-so about classical pieces played on the bass. I respect the chops, the tone but the music feels oddly out of place to me...

But I like this video by Edmond Gilmore playing an alder/rosewood/60s VF5. It would talk me forever to learn to play this, and I'd be sloppy all through it.

I think he is referring to just one bass, and it has a very sweet white ash top (wood grain, not painted white) and the cross inlay.

Edmond... he's killing me! Really wonderful playing and soloing on this original composition, with his redwood AC5. Dude's got it. When I listen to him play (and solo especially) I could see him subbing for Tom Kennedy in Weckl's electric band. Somehow, his playing reminds me of Tom's.
