Nice! I prefer rosewood board and '60s spacing, myself:

WOW! Looks awesome

Hello, guys. I don't wanna you think it's spam, but I wouldn't ask if it wasn't so important for me and my band. We take part in Shure contest. You'd really help us if you liked our song here: https://soundcloud.com/shure-europe/crauser. Thank you so much.
By the way, I play my BN6 here :)
No problem liking that; it was fun. :hyper:

BTW, my speakers were turned up too high (child prank) when it came on and I was almost knocked out of my chair! ;-)

I am thinking about saling my Sadowsky NYC to buy a VF5.
Does any of you had played those two basses and could give his feeling ?

The point his I am looking for a "vintage" ash body/maple FB with the Fbass feel (low setting and growl)

I like my Sadowsky, but the neck is a bit fat and the action too classic (hight) for me.
Thanks !
I will be absolutely NO help for you, but your post reminds me that years ago I set out to buy my first Sadowsky and ended up buying a VF5. It has a wonderful playing neck -- and balance and great tone of course.

Sadly ... my ash/rosewood/70's is for sale in the classifieds ... If any of you guys are interested, feel free to PM me
The link in your ad didn't work when I tried it, Jason.

I can't believe you are selling that bass.

I got to play that bass and was VERY intrigued by it.

One of the things I remember about Jason's VF5 is how lively the ash body made the finger style tone, and how warm the rosewood made the slap tone. I kept wanting to go back and forth between slapping and fingerstyle just to experience that cool transition.

Really enjoyed Calvin's video featuring his 33" BN6.

I'd love to see an F Bass video comparing Calvin's 33" 6 String BN to Rich Brown's VF6! It would be great to hear those guys play together and to highlight the differences in those two models and scale lengths!
Yeah, I liked that one too. He is easy to like and does a great job showing it off.

Come to think of it, if that trade doesn't work out, Jake, this bass may be that spot you were looking for.

that's Great News Mitch

My custom BNF6 will be the first to have an ash through body neck ...Im totally excited about this Bass!!!
Hopefully you will get a chance to play it before it gets shipped out to me...George is going to start work on it when he gets back from NAMM

Thats going to be very interesting....we'll see if it retains some of the same tonal qualities re above. Hopefully I'll be around when its done, I'd like to give it a whirl.

I could see that. I think in my case the alder body was much more the culprit than the rosewood board in not being able to get quite comfortable. Phillip received your old VF and his is scheduled to be delivered to me tomorrow!! :hyper:

So just got a Fbass BN6 in trade and it's a serious bass! Love it! I'm very surprised at how easy the 6 is to play!!!

My question is, I just paid for a full set up because there was a lot of buzzing going on. After the set up, the buzzing is better, but it's still there. Now this is my first 6 and I want to know if that's normal for such a large fretboard. The guy said there looks to be a slight twist in the neck too, but I couldn't see it. He's said that before too, and I couldn't see it (different bass). So did I get ripped on a set up or is there going to be some clank/buzz in a 6 no matter what?

Hi there: there are two sides of the string when you play a note in your fretboard, one side between note and the bridge and the other between the note and the nut.

It is possible that your nut is too low and the strings you are using buzz a little against the frets. Since the amplified section is way more louder than this part of your bass, you'll only notice it when you are not amplified.

I have a similar issue with my AC6, George suggested me changing the nut, which i will do once i'll be close to their location.

Hope this helps, refards
