Thanks, good journey! (Hope your Dad liked it too!)

Haha, that was good.:D
Speaking of vreepy stalking, I have a story.
I went to the bar one afternoon just to have a beer. The place was empty except for some dude I had never seen before and some gal. There were down at the other end talking and I was watching the football game, enjoying just sitting quiet and drinking a beer. After I was there for about 10 minutes, the lady walks down to where I'm sitting and asks me, "do you know what the difference between a missionary and a mercinary is?" I tell her that, yea, I do. She wants an explination so I tell her. She then tells me that this other dude is telling her that he;s a mercinary. OK I say, and she walks back down to the other end of the bar again. I go back to watching the game.
After awhile, the fella gets up to use the bathroom. As soon as he's gone, the lady hightails down to where I'm sitting again and asks me how old I am. I tell her and she asks me if I have any kids. Yep I say. At this point, the guy comes out of the bathroom. The gal see's him, turns to me and says, 'Some people are just f*****in liars!" And away she goes back down the bar.
I reckon she;s right but want no part of it so finish my beer and leave.
A few days later, my wife and I go to the bar to have a little time out. We're there for a little while when same gal walks in. She sits next to my wife while I'm talking to a friend who's sitting next to me as well. After awhile, my wife turns to me and tells my that this crazy lady sitting next to her is going on to my wife how gorgeous I am (I did say she's crazy). She doesn't know she's talking to my wife and my wife thinks this is just funny as heck. Well, we stay a short while and go home.
So a few days after that, I'm walking down the street when someone walks up behind me and falls into walking along with me. There she is, wearing short shorts and a halter top. "I was looking for you", she says. "Well, here I am", I say not knowing what to say. She starts talking, telling me about her life and such. I'm really not used to stuff like this so I wasn't sure how to deal with it so I just told her I was on my way to meet my wife.
I haven't been to the bar since but I have seen her following me a couple times. :hmm:
She seems nice (and crazy) and I don't want to make her feel bad but I sure don't know what to do.

I would have said FM, but then your wife would have been cuffed to the bar stool while she dragged you out.

Volunteer project hopefully finished. I do the set up, volunteers do their bit and then I have to chase it all down and wrap it up in Feb.

Lee, nice man cave, summer or winter. I have a couple of winter and summer shots on my work puter, I'll post them tomorrow.

James, I think the first Shingleville TB Bass GTG may happen at a hardware store.

Bring your wife, Lee can deal with the stalker. :p

Laremond, hope it's all worked out, whatever it was.
My wife has been married 32 years to the same idiot, so if you need survival skills, just ask me.

Tats, the world is ok for me right now. I have been working on getting myself a bit more organized and beating back the to-do list.

Marty, the band management forum will convince you that you are not alone. Band dram is rampant.

Chuck, nice shot of the farm.

Baron, good to see you still around.

I have some crap to do, garbage, recycling, blah blah. Back later though I do have work tomorrow. The chores don't end.

The jam sessions are progressing to "refining what we are doing so we can take it out" but it has had a minimum of drama. I'm good with that and comfy with the situation, I am getting good playing time with accomplished musicians. It's all good.

Tat, 4 chords is good. I'd look for related progressions with maj and minor.

Take G as the root for example.
Perhaps use the D (V) as the second chord.

You can take your pick of any 2 of the related chords and work them in.

Am
Bm
C
Em

That is one simple way to satisfy your requirement.

For example in 4/4 on one chord per measure let's say we choose these chords:

G Am Em D repeat.

or something analogous to that process. Then vamp the chords over and over and see if it suggests a melody and words to you. If not, change it up and try again.

Glad you enjoyed the ride Thor. Yea, my Pop loved it. He drove logtruck for about 40 years so it brought back some good memories.

Haha no, I only wish it was FM, and that she handcuffed my wife, and then...... well, yea.

Like that in Game 6 or 7. If everyone on both teams stay healthy I think there is a real good chance we'll see them play for the cup again. That would make for an even more intense & exciting final than last year.

Now I am not a hockey fan (yeah I know, how un-Canadian) but living in Vancouver I was astonished to the point of sickness of the aftermath. At least it brought a lot of the non-******** of the city together in the cleanup. I was able to write on one of the boarded up walls.

Wall Contribution

In other news a little story about picking up the bass and amp yesterday.

Everything goes fine until I am leaving. It was as is typical of Vancouver this time of year pissing rain. The stairs leading up to the house were wet and wood and as careful as I was trying to be with the bass and the hard case I ended up falling and really buggering up my ankle.

At the very least the bass was unharmed. I will have to say that the experience on this bass is much different from my Power Bass. I don't know if it's the gauge of the strings or the bass itself but it's so much easier to play. There were a couple of songs, Mika's Big Girls and Blondie's Heart of Glass where it involves using the 2nd and fourth finger on separate strings with 8th notes and I can hold down the strings so much better. The amp that came with it sounds pretty good as well.

Fret not (pun not intended) Bubba will still get some love and attention once I can afford to take her in and have her tuned up and the strings changed. I do think that Lola will be my main practise bass to get my skills up to snuff for better Bubba action.

Well the band did get together today and jam. I was pleasantly surprised and we even pulled off some pretty decent results on some songs we really had mot done before. In fact the one I had the most doubts about might habe even come off the best. It was Albert Collins - Let The Good Times Roll. Not a tough song but there are tons of breaks and gaps where you don't play a note. Hitting the starts and stops in a song can be the hardestart but we really got it pretty good on the first time theough.

Wow, I had a busy weekend and apparently missed a lot here. Hopefully I'll get time to read through the last several pages to see what I missed.

I'll also have to post some pictures of one of the reasons I had a busy weekend. ;)
