Dingwall Owners Club

A couple things.
1) Go Cubs
2) Great playing and tone. I bought my NG3 for the series and parallel options it had and the biggest suprise was that I spend half my time on the neck (either passive or active depending on the mood). I was blown away how much it sounded like a really good precision.
3) You must have great taste. An NG3, a hyper luminal with the exact same settings I use for a vintage vibe (I do run the blend to noon usually though), and a great song. Oh wait, nevermind - forgot about the Reds jersey :)

Thanks for the compliments. I agree with everything but the Cubs. Today was supposed to be Opening Day, which is about as big as Christmas here in Cincinnati. To bad it got cancelled but I’m showing my support. Btw, thank you Cubbies for Castellanos and Strop! Lol

Now mint could work nicely! I’ve considered black-white-black too as a less flashy option. Don’t think I’d go the pearl route as it would potentially be too garish with how in your face the blocks already are. For my taste at least.

Black gets my vote. I think the Nate Mendel signature model has that color scheme and looks good. The right color tort would also look good.

Just got my NG3 and my planet waves right angle cable doesn't want to stay put with the shape of the jack on these guitars.

Any of you using right angle plugs with success or should I just buy a straight angle?

I could flip the cable around but supposedly these cables are supposed to be in one direction.

Any cable brand suggestions let me know. Thanks!

First thing I would suggest is flipping the cable around, closing your eyes, and seeing if you can hear a difference.
Since you're a scientist, get a helper and a blindfold and try doing an experiment, and see how many times out of ten you can correctly tell the difference with the cable direction while blindfolded!

Science!

I believe Planet Waves cables are supposed to go one direction as the right angle end is shielded and therefore should be on the instrument end. I cannot tell a difference but perhaps I could get more noise in some situations like at my church where there seems to be a lot of dirty power.
Maybe this will help.
Personally, in the 49 years I've been playing bass I have never paid attention to the "direction" of my cable. I have several Spectraflex cables and all have a right angle plug on one end, and since I switched to Dingwall, I now put the angled plug on the amp side. Of course, get a wireless, and this is all moot. :D

That said, I do know it's common practice to attach the shielding of a cable to only one of the plugs. That should probably go in the amp so any noise can be drawn off through the amp grounding.

ohhhh i dig the racy look of the headstock in the second pic. yowzers!!
I do like the P's and J's with matching headstocks and maple necks. If I were to go w/w I may not do that though. Sure would be nice to have a Super P in the stable. (must... close... browser...)

@AB Nate ... Wow, not a huge fan of white but that is beautiful.
