If I'm at a gig and my wife is attending, I often hand off my bass to her at the end of the night to take home...that way I don't have to worry about keeping an eye on it while we spend the next hour or two settling up, networking, loading gear, etc. I guess after nearly 8 years of being my other daily squeeze (the bass, not my wife) it's become 'part of the family' I came home and found this in the guest room:
My wife said "You too had a long night and worked hard, so I figured I should just tuck'er in and make her comfy for the night and your bass can rest"
