Do you wear a watch when you play?

Justin Meldal-Johnsen inspired me to get a Nomos. It's my first and only mechanical watch and I definitely wear it while playing

I do. Almost exclusively automatic watches too, so when I'm playing, they wind themselves. Except for two of them, Hamilton Khaki Field (white dial 38mm, and the blacked out PVD 38mm), which are hand-wound only. I have two other Hamiltons (Khaki Field Automatics - the black dial 38mm one everyone gets, and the same one in blue but it's a 40mm), a couple of automatic Seikos, and a few cheap Islander automatics too. Mostly I try wear light watches when I play, but I always wear one, and they're always steel or PVD-coated steel. I had a watch with a resin case (quartz movement) that was great - 36mm, light as a feather (Bertucci A-1R). Not that fancy, but I use it for running in the mornings and that's it.
I know Geddy Lee is a huge watch collector, but he never wears them when on stage. I think I read an article about him showing his collection to the Hodinkee guys (or maybe someone else, can't remember) talking about his Tag Heuer chrono that he prized the most (?). Something like that.
Anyway, I love watches too, but like bass guitars a bit more. And I've paired down my watch collection to 8. So for the past few years, if I want one, another one gets sold, and I consider the loss on selling it just "rent" while I had and enjoyed it.

Same. My dad got me a Casio F-91 (or something similar) when I turned 8, which was over 40 yrs ago. Since then, I've always worn a watch.

Usually can't tell I even have a watch on. I'll wear the Seamaster to practice tomorrow night and let you know how it goes.
Doh.........That explains a lot of things, as i have been watching the second hand so could hit the downbeat when it got to the 1.Keeping time does not require a watch.
Industrial electrician, took the rings and watches off years ago, and the keys out of my pocket.
Never took the habit back up and kept them off, I do have a watch that I only wear occasionally, nothing fancy just a military grade watch with a analog face and hands.
As a side note I also really don't have any night lights anymore because all the little indicator lights on various things in my room including power strips lights the room up good enough to see at night.
When I was wearing the watch I used to break them fairly often because I'd be swinging my hands around doing stuff and inevitably crack it on something. So I never was a purchaser of expensive watches.
Heck I just bought my first electric razor last year. Took a little getting used to. Took the beard off last year for a surgery and haven't grown it back, but the cookie duster remains.
