put a set of the nickel plated steels on my sterling last night. They sound rather bright but still have some body. Interested to see how they will go with the band tomorrow.

What do you think is their most aggressive set?
Does anyone know which manufacturers are now using Dunlops stock from their shipped instruments?
I know Mike Lull puts them on all his basses! That's how I got hipped to Dunlops last year.
I love my GHS Stainless FWs! Awesome big sound! No problem.
I just wanted to get the word out, especially to ALL the guys who liked DR strings when they first came out.
Many people have been noticing lately that DR strings "Ain't what they used to be", so if you are looking for something better you may want to give the Dunlops a try.
You just might be surprised people!!!
Also found out that Dunlop makes Mike Lull and Elrick strings!!!
Just put on a heavy set of the SS. Coming off the stock SX strings (d'addario?) I initially was missing the aggressive brightness I expect from new strings but I'm adjusting to the enhanced overall smoothness.
They're cool and will probably grow on me. I was just hoping for a little more metallic in the high end from SS strings I guess.
No problem.

I don't get it??? If you want your Bass to sound like a 6 string guitar then why don't you buy a 6 string guitar?! A Bass is supposed to sound deep! Here's a cool clip of someone playing with the Dunlop Nickels. They sound very nice and bright yet still retain some warmth.
Try GHS SS FW. They are great!I think their SS are a little smoother than ProSteels and they look a little shinier, like nickel strings almost. ProSteels kind of have that dirty old string look like a lot of SS. I really like them a lot. I have the nickels and the SS and they are great. For $16 a set, you simply can't go wrong. Now if only they wouldk make a flatwound.
