I may have answered my question. In the product picture I see a chiclet switch next to the compressor light. I have to expect it’s a comp on/off button. Let me know if I’m wrong, thx.

Eden tn501 is very good but has three negative aspects.
1. The fans are always on and at top speed, no matter what. So at night and low volume or with headphones it might be a pain in the neck.
2. The EQ affects the aux in. So if you insert a phone with a drum or anything, any change in te EQ will change that sound, imo it should be plain and neutral, not equalized.
3. When you plug the phones, the mix still goes to the cabinet. So you need to unplug the cabinet in order to be ninja player.
4. The aux in and phones conections are on the back, a bad acccess.
It is a great amp, but these aspects make it a bad fella for ninja players.

No problem, it's good info to have here. An always on fan can definitely be annoying, and an aux input connected to the EQ is kind of stupid. I wouldn't have thought to ask about either of these things, but I'm glad to know about them now.My mistake. FYI, you could try using the FX return as an aux input, which should bypass the EQ. You will probably want a stereo to mono adapter.
The warwick lma500 has an internal temperature switch to starts the fans when needed.
Very clever and at a low cost.
LWA 500, and yea, it works great. In the very rare instance that it does come on it's completely silent. They aren't the only ones to use a temperature controlled fan, though. I believe the Peavey BassMax line does as well, for instance.
@2. No. EQ does not effect aux in.
The aux goes to line-out and phones-out, but not to DI. So if you send your signal to FOH through DI and get a monitor-mix back in your aux in, you can use your amp as an in-ear amp/mixer.
I was talking just about following configuration:
Bass conected, phone with mp3 connected to aux in, amp connected to a speaker.
In this configuration, the equalizer affects the music from the smartphone.
Other options, I have not tried so far.
Are you sure the EQ effects the aux-in sound? It should be post EQ. Could it be that the music from your phone sounds bassy because you play it through a bass cab and not a full-range speaker? Have you tried what it sounds like with headphones? I think that the aux in is more for silent practice anyway, the amp is after all a bass amp and not a PA system.
Haha, that is a bit ironic now that you mention it. Eden's manufacturing--at least the Terra Nova amps anyway--is done in China, though.
So maybe it ships China -> Europe -> USA ? This must be globalization at work. If that’s the case then it’s 6 of one vs. a half-dozen of the other, at least in terms of environmental footprint.
