FedEx Nightmare Barefaced FOUND!!! Post 122

Agreed that notifying the shipper (in this case Barefaced) is the best course of action when dealing with lost parcels in the FedEx system. I do a ton of business via FedEx and the 'shipper' always seems to be able to get more info than the 'receiver'.

I see you have already done this... good luck.
+1. And in my opinion, they are the ones who should be standing on their heads, trying to find the shipment, not the buyer, who has already paid the hefty shipping charge for a prompt delivery.

Exactly!! I've been researching and reading the Barefaced thread for probably a year before making the decision to invest. I've read about the amazing speedy delivery everyone else seems to of had the luxury of taking advantage of. I assumed I'd enjoy the same result. Alex's email emulated that sentiment. I assumed wrong.
What does Barefaced have to do with this? You seem to think that Alex delivers these cabs himself - he doesn't. This is 100% a FedEx thing. To even imply that BF has any part in this is in very poor taste on your part. In fact, the name of the company should not even be in the thread title. By doing so, you're giving people the impression that BF can't be trusted, when they have proven to be one of the best companies out there to do business with. Not cool, dude.

FedEx is trash. Nothing but a hassle every time I've used them for shipping or receiving - my most recent order shipped FedEx was supposed to be 2-day delivery, and this was its itinerary before it arrived at my doorstep in a crushed box:
Philadelphia
Columbus
Kansas City
Chicago
St Louis
Detroit
Omaha
Salt Lake
Spokane
Boise
Portland.

Nine days.

Hope you get your stuff.

My most interesting story was receiving a package with adult signature as a surprise. It was furniture repart parts. So that UPS note on the door with the box requiring an adult signature checked was a big surprise.

I called the seller and asked why they had to ship it as such without any notice to me prior to completing the order. They replied it was standard policy to avoid theft. There was nothing they could do once the package left their facility.

So after a couple of notices, and the morning down to the last delivery, I put some soy sauce in a small plate. Stuck my dog's paw in it and onto a blank piece of paper. On that I wrote... "This is Network, he is an adult dog, and is home... look in the window". I taped the UPS notice to that paper and left it on the front door.

To my surprise when I arrived home from work, there was the package. Some months down the road, I received another signature required notice from UPS left on the door with the note that "no dogs allowed".

While it may be cold comfort, back when i used FedEx exclusively for both incoming and outgoing shipments, i never lost a single thing or had any shipping damage. I had a few items misdireced that took a few days to sort out, but other than that i had great luck with them.

I had an EUB damaged....

Supposed to have a rep just fill out paperwork...Instead they shipped it back to where it came from ( a FedEx store)...

Took over 3 months to get to a resolution .... And that was many phone calls and emails later...

That is an overview... But... You get the story..

So... Yes I can relate but sounds like yours is just a shipping error not a FedEx " horror"

Agreed nothing to do with Barefaced. They held up their end of the job.

my experience...

FEDEX - Not Good

UPS - Good

Being in a small town I have the same UPS delivery guy for many years and he knows where to put packages out of site per my instruction on my property....without fail. Never had issues with UPS delivery and if I have to sign then I go to the distribution hub (not their stores) which is 5 minutes from where I work.

I think FEDEX really just doesn't have quality people with any brains and they simply don't care about their job because FEDEX doesn't care about their employees. They're always a job away from flipping burgers.

Me too until now. I've had good luck and their tracking system was better on average than their competitors.

I encounter Fedex and UPS drivers numerous times a day at my job. The drivers are all pretty cool but I will say (over 20 years at this job) that Fedex drivers have generally tended to be less patient and more hurried than the UPS drivers; markedly so. Fedex drivers have twice taken out our loading dock gate.

From the title of the thread I was expecting to see pictures of trashed, damaged cabinets.

The older I get the lower my expectations get. If I receive something on time, early and undamaged I am elated. Otherwise I just assume everything I order will arrive late, damaged or the wrong product. Especially from a certain online retailer that sells music products.

I wish you luck and hope it works out. I would assume these shipping companies handle millions of items weekly if not daily. They do screw up occasionally. Just be feel lucky OnTrac didn't deliver it, your neighbor or someone else would have received the package and they never call back.

Hmmm. This is a wrinkle I didn't even think about. I've had smaller cabs and basses delivered to my house and never needed to sign, but they weren't FedEx either.
Can't ship to my work.
I better read up on this option to deliver to a FedEx location.
