It looks like Fender is gunning for EBMM and G&L.

The best we can hope for is that it sells terribly and becomes collectible down the road.

Definitely not. I am curious about the knobs, though. I'm assuming it'll be a 3 band EQ, or maybe a 2 band with a coil tap function, like the MP Jazz has.

Either way, I'm not sure I'd buy one over a MusicMan, but I am very interested to see the specs.

If the MIA is just Fender's take on the MusicMan I think might actually prefer the MP. Yeah humbuckers are cool but the tribucker sounded really versatile in the demo.

Fender show today - looks like they're making more of these Dimensions!

From the looks of it, single & double humbucker versions, 4 or 5 strings, and according to the guy who's there, Fender are making Modern Player, MIM and MIA models.

Looks like they have faith in these basses being successful..

i'm going to wait until the natural 5'er comes out.

edit: the basscentral site looks like it's gonna be the $700 one that'll be in my price-range but if it's more than modern player basses i've have to think twice.

The only thing I don't like about these is that the Deluxe Dimension V has all the tuners on one side. Not a big deal but IMO that is just too much tuna for a single slice of bread....... or something like that.

Fender went through a phase where did that with all their 5s, most people were happy when they started doing 4+1.

Does anyone know what the five-way switch on the HH model does? I mean it's obviously pickup selection but then I assume that there's series/parallel and/or coil taps or something if you have five positions for two pickups. (Sorry if this has been discussed already.)
