Fender Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800

Another iOS Update, it looks like I auto-updated but I haven’t tried the new version yet.

Thanks for the notification, digiddy! My android tablet auto-updated to 3.2.3, but my iPhone was still at 3.2.2. I just switched from an android phone to iPhone this year, so there's still a lot of the finer points I'm playing catch-up on.
.

Same here. I have auto-updating turned off. I run a manual update check almost daily. I like to know that's going on with my phone. When I saw the Fender Tone app update, I checked for "What's new". It mentioned that I should also update the firmware in my amp to v3. I don't know if my Studio 40 is on the latest version or not. Will do an update check on that after my morning dog walk. At least now I know to turn the Wi-Fi back off after checking/updating.

For the life of me, I can't get my Studio 40 to connect to my wi-fi network. I've tried to follow the manual, but I'm not seeing the "back" button (top one of the four) text change to "done" when I enter the password. It just rescans and tells me that it can't find any networks. I power it off, then back on, go to wi-fi and see that list of available networks. Just a viscous cycle. Very frustrating. Could Fender make it any more difficult to use? I got it working several months ago and was able to update the firmware then, but now? Nada.

Maarti, you might try:

1. Turn off Bluetooth, so it won't interfere with the wi-fi.

B. Check this posted "new" procedure. IIRC, last time I had trouble this worked for me.

. There's also a reference in this post to a Full Update, and/or forced Update.

Good luck!

Thanks, @KindofBlues71. Your question in the main Club thread about sound comparisons of the NEW Rumble 800 COMBO reminded me that the thread that has that needs to be captured. So, the Rumble 800 COMBO Thread has been linked at the bottom of the new Rumble 800 COMBO sub-section on your Rumble Club Wiki page. This should be very helpful to anyone considering the new COMBO, but especially to those already familiar with older Rumble models.

I'll continue looking for more useful links about this great new amp! When I search for "Fender Rumble 800 COMBO" I continue to get mostly links to the Rumble Stage 800! Thanks, 7ender, for the confusing model names. :bored:

Thanks G-Dog for keeping up with all of this.

My Studio-40 has been stuck in Kansas for three days now.
If it shows up with a Jayhawk sticker on it, I'll really be pissed. :sour:

Wow! I haven't heard of this before, Cowboy! So, is your concise Public Service Announcement that "certain older wifi routers may have problems transmitting the Rumble firmware update"? Or is there any more info to it, at this time? Sounds like one reasonable conclusion from your description. Did any of the techs you talked to tell you this, like they had run into this before? If so, which tech, Fender, Sweetwater, AT&T, Spectrum, ...?

Any other specifics you can share? Like, is there any significant internet speed difference between your wifi and your brother's, in case that has any bearing? Did you try the the Tone App Support section instead of just the Standard Firmware Update? (Although I would think that'd be the first thing Fender Support would have you try.) Do you plan to test with the new router? If so, do you have an ETA when that will be?

Please excuse the "third degree". If you don't mind, I'd like to include your PSA in the Tone App Support section of the Rumble Club Wiki page, but would like to make it as complete as possible. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the tips. I finally got the Wi-Fi connected. And? My firmware was up-to-date. At least I got it going again. Merci beaucoup ! [Note that the space before the '!' is intentional. In French, question and exclamation marks have a space between the word and the mark, but periods don't. Just one more thing about French I'll never understand.]

Worked for me. Thanks. And I did have to turn Bluetooth off. And use the "Save" button instead of looking for a "Done" button.

We're not in Kansas anymore.
My amp is now in a "local" Fed-UPS facility in Council Bluffs IA. This is just across the river from Omaha NE where I am. Not the most "local Fed-UPS facility, but close enough I guess.
There was a shipping note, while in Kansas that said "Shipping label unreadable, shipping label replaced"!! :nailbiting:
That makes me nervous.

Fed-UPS... What get when Fed-X and UPS merge.

So, is the replacement label a faithful unreadable copy of the original, or what?

Musta been Fed-UPS that dropped a mangled box at our door this week, with purchased items actually hanging out!!! Of course there were items missing from the packing list. So, they can, somehow, take the time to replace an unreadable label, but they can't slap a strip of tape, or three, onto a torn wide open box?!? :rollno:

Or they ship it back to where it came from. Way back, when I had to work trade shows, I shipped a super-sized steamer trunk full of stuff for my booth from a show in Detroit to a show two days later in Palm Springs. FedEx did not remove the previous shipping label (Chicago to Detroit) and managed to ship the case to Memphis and then back to Detroit. I was sitting in the convention center in Palm Springs following that routing on my laptop. I contacted FedEx and they shipped it door-to-door from Detroit to Palm Springs on Sunday. I was able to get my booth set up for the Monday opening. So much for my day off in Palm Springs. :banghead:

New to the page here... So, how do I ask a 'new' question specifically on the Rumble Stage page? i.e. When I go to DL presets from the Tone Cloud, I just seem to get guitar presets. I'd like to see bass guitar presets. I search for BASS, but get a lot of stuff meant for 6 string guitars. Thanks!

Well, howdy, loudy! When you go to the Download section in the Fender TONE APP there's a magnifying glass icon at the top. Tap that icon and it let's you type in the word "bass" (without the quotes), then press Return, or Go, on your virtual keyboard and the list if bass presets appears.

Try it and let us know if it works for you. ;)

I'm having an issue with my Studio. I recently bought an EXP-1 and when I hook it up, my amp cuts out and won't play sound again until I shut it down and turn it back on. then it will work for a bit and cuts out again. If it matters, I'm running a GXT-7 foot switch.

I dunno about the footswitch and/or expression pedal causing sound cut outs, but having wifi turned on when not updating the software has been documented to do just that! Check to see if your amp has wifi turned on and, if so, turn it off. And/or see if the cut outs occur without the footswitch and pedal connected.

There is a recent firmware upgrade for the the Studio/Stage amps. It may affect how everything works together.
In fact the upgrade is so recent, my new Studio 40 that just arrived earlier this week it's still running the previous version. (I assume anything in stock, ready to ship also needs the upgrade, and only the latest ones coming off the assembly line will have the newest.) I ordered mine direct from Fender on Nov. 28. I think the update came out right around, or just after, that time.

Even if it doesn't solve your issue, it's a good idea to do the upgrade.

I just did the firmware upgrade on my Studio 40.
To do this, be sure your WiFi is configured and turned on, AND TURN OFF BLUETOOTH.
If Bluetooth is on, you get an error message saying WiFi not configured.
My WiFi was configured. After turning off Bluetooth, the upgrade ran fine.

Then I turned Bluetooth back on, and WiFi off.

True, Bander, WiFi and Bluetooth do not coexist peacefully in the Stage & Studio. It's an "Either/Or" situation. Seems as if they both use some of the same circuitry, or antennae, or something, so they interfere with one another if the user doesn't turn off the one they don't want. It's a real problem for those that don't even see a difference between WiFi and Bluetooth enough to know which they want, and when. I've never noticed such contingent behaviour in cell phones, or am I just not paying attention?:facepalm:

Anyway, we just have to remember, when we turn one on, to turn the other off; and vice versa.
