I don't think either of mine check those boxes. My white one has a painted headstock but other than that they are pretty stock. I'll have to dig up the specs but 99% sure boxes, unchecked. Thanks though.

Before I can move on it I need to sell at least one piece of gear I have on hand locally and I just put it up for sale on CL. Pretty good chance the bass will be gone by the time that happens. We'll see how it goes.

hope you can get it,they are great and its a good price! if you find yourself not digging the 5 keep at it, one day somthing will click and you will feel all one with it. No regrets buying mine..Cheers!

"In November 1982, the SB-1 and SB-2 saw the light of day with their own simplified wiring harness. ‘SB’ stands for Standard Bass, according to George Fullerton on p. 124 of Guitars from George & Leo: How Leo Fender and I Built G&L Guitars."

(And, when they introduced the LB-100 after Leo Fender's death, they wanted to call it the Legacy Bass, but there were trademark issues with that name)

What does the G&L club think of this late 90s ASAT fretless I just picked up? It’s my first G&L, and I’m loving it so far!

Thanks for pointing that out AND for the book. I had never heard of it. Just downloaded a Kindle sample. It gets good reviews. Any comments here on the book would be welcome.

It is a good read for any G&L fan. That book and Paul Bechtold’s are the two best non-forum sources of G&L history that I am aware of. I have a copy of both. Bechtold’s book is hard to find and usually expensive when you do.

Thanks Ivan, these are much appreciated! It’s a small thing, but I truly appreciate how far down you mix the background “music” in these. Sometimes it’s mixed so loud you need to strain to hear the content. I’m not sure why we need it at all, but at least in this case it’s not obtrusive.

I would agree. The backing track is helpful in the context of bass to place it in a band setting - realistically how many of us play bass as a solo instrument?

but if its a video to showcase an instrument-then that instrument should be prominent in the mix.
