They don't look like any "Made In Germany" pickups I've seen but they do look exactly like the Icon/Ignition pickups I have on my Chinese/Indonesion made Hofners.

I did some more digging...
The site says the Invalid Link Removed.
The same site says the Invalid Link Removed pickups, the same as all the Invalid Link Removed (for what that's worth).
Some of the Chinese guitars have the German "Diamond" mini-Humbucker pickups and some others have Korean P-90s. I verified that with the importer a few years ago when I bought one.
So I wonder. I think the reason they look different is that these are mounted in the pickguard, not an external surround.
Hard to tell as the pictures aren't that great.
I bought one of the Indonesian Club Basses from Hello Music a while back.
It sounds great with flats or rounds, and has a huge bottom end. Really fat and fills out the bass part.
A lot more versatile than I thought it would be. Dial out the neck pickup, and it can really be pretty bright.

I don't know if anyone knows yet what the serial numbers relate to, but the serial will be on the label inside under the control panel, just like the German and Ignition/Icons. They have been producing the CT's for a couple of years now. So may be the folks on the board can check and list their Serial #'s and when they bought them, if new, when they post. Then we can get an idea re: mfg. date.
Cool, I can attest to the fact that the pickups in my Icon Club and Ignition violin do sound very good.
They were rotating the black and sunburst Club models for $225.
I'm impressed overall, although the tuners scare me a bit. lol
Jasper, These are great tuners from Stewmac.com. The peg holes are, I think, 11/32 which is a shade larger than stock. $41 and change for 6. You understand that Hofners use guitar tuners. If you don't have to have white pearl, these are fantastic 18 to 1 tuners. Compare these to what came on your bass!
Nice to know these are out there in case the stock tuners break. The plastic knobs don't look built to last.
I don't think they will break. They just are not as snug and precise. I think they are about 10 to 1, and the Grovers are 18 to 1, and have actual bearing blocks that the worm shaft turns through.
Remove the control panel and look into the body of the instrument. directly below the where the control panel is mounted will be a label identifying the model and that instruments serial number. Serial number are pretty simple.
First letter indicates the year of manufacture. Example
A = 2000
B = 2001
C = 2002
D = 2003 etc
The next two numbers represent the month. Example
01 = Jan
02 = Feb
03 = Mar
04 = Apr etc
The next two numbers represent the day.
23 = 23rd
05 = 5th
18 = 18th
30 = 30th etc
Then there should be a - followed by a 4 digit number which represents the sequence where that particular instrument was made that day. The 4 digit start with 10 xx Example
1015 = 15th
1074 = 74th
1038 = 38th
So a HCT with a serial number of H0324-1082 reads as follows:
H = 2007
03 = March
24 = 24th day
1082 = 82nd instrument made that day.

EDIT: Just checked mine and it starts with M and is on the back of the headstock and on the label under the control panel, I don't think Hofner has a time machine, so I still don't know what year it was produced. Serial is MXXXXBXXX where the X's are numbers.

PM me your serial number and i'll help you decifer it. I'm assuming the bass is a HCT500/x

On the Labella "Beatle Bass" strings the portion of the string that winds around the post is about the same for all the strings and it's very thin so it's not necessary to open up any tuner post holes.
