I stuck into an M700 chassis, a new 500 watt version (again from Hypex). This 500 watt version should probably live in a smaller enclosure than the M700, but for now it is NAMM ready with vinyl stickers that say, "M500" on the front. (Don't tell anybody. :))
I am truly surprised at how much this things adds. I admit that I fought the idea of a "small" amp. Didn't think it could do what I want on the B and such. Impossible to describe, but it only takes about two notes to get it.
I am hoping this thing can eventually live in a pedal-size enclosure, but it is way too early to tell.

Hey Matthew be sure and give us the low down on the new Origin Effects drive pedal.I've been waiting a loooong time to hear what it can do in bass. The teaser images don't reveal much info but it looks to be knob and switch heavy. I'm guessing some sorta three band, variabke eq, with clean blend and another surprise or two. Keep us posted brah! :)

Swapped a dovecage for bamboo, and picked up a M700 once again and I pretty much have the best rig I could imagine now. No amp/cab GAS whatsoever for the foreseeable future.

Origin actually wasn't at the show this year: I was chatting with them a bit, and evidently the new OD wasn't quite ready yet so they held off.

I may be demo'ing at their booth next year though, so I'll certainly keep you posted :)

Yep, I played through them and also heard a few different endorser demo sets at Skip's booth. I've known Skip for quite a few years and that rig offered the best presentation of his whole thing that I've yet heard. Hanging with Jule was cool too, of course.

NAMM is a bit strange for me in that I spend little time on other products. I get to show people how Monique and the amps work, and that is fun, but it is connecting with the people I admire that makes NAMM a positive experience for me. This NAMM was also the first time I have been able to watch Marsha meet you all, and be a part of this strange world of the low end. That was very much a pleasure.

As you in-the-know know, she is the one who really gets the products to you.

That was way cool. My wife has mentioned possibly going next year, which would throw a much different spin on my energy. And I mean that in the best possible way.

Fifteen years ago my wife tagged along to the huge Philly Phall vintage guitar show. At an after hours jam someone handed me a killer bass he'd made, and after I was done playing she calmly asked me when I would be ordering one. And then she covered the deposit as a birthday present. But these days I'm on my own if I want to clutter the house even more.

Yeah I quickly figured that out. I think I was just putting 2 and 2 together, the timing of the new drive pedal reveals on social media, NAMM time and I just assumed that they would have it ready for the show. Now I’m just eager to see the control layout. There was a thread on fb asking what do we think the controls are and natural enough you’d expect them to ‘reveal’.
Great job getting the Dingwall demo spot and enjoyed the Premier Guitar interview. Origin Effects would be the next natural choice for you...them and Darkglass.
