Hello Everyone,
Got a Skyline DJ4 coming on Weds and US JO probably next week. coming into the fold with a bang :) I will post pics of the happy family when I get it together...Does anybody know where I can pick up a pu chrome cover for the JO? If so how much? Thanks

welcome aboard!!!

Peace:

Doug

I must have the older Barts in Traci and I have the spare setup that came outta Sexual Chocolate which was born in '96 I believe. Considered sellling that set, but now I won't. I've heard too many stories of the older sets being "magical"... and for me they're TOPS!

Of course, I'm not interested in getting a P or J tone outta my 55s, if I did that, I'd have no reason to get a BG5 and a JO/DJ, hehe.

Yeh - I seem to LOVE older Barts (pre-2000) but the newer ones seem to lack the upper mids and highs I like...although a good scope will show they actually have a higher response than the LH3 (forgot who did this but someone did a nice comparison a while back)

I worked Saturday and Sunday and have Mon/Tues off. Currently procrastinating wrapping up the fall yard clean up.
Heres some Lakland Pron I collected and saved - never owned it just dug the Sonic look.

LOVE it!!!!

would love to own that one...

I personally like the look of the Chi's better than the Darkstar pickups.

Like sleek vs. tricked out......

nice cowl cover vs. no hood....

I like both looks....just different...I agree that the DS's look more "gutsy" but I kinda like the smoothness look and raunchy sound of the CHIs.....

PS - I like the DS sound as well....again - just "different" than a CHI....

Duck Dunn is here. It is strikingly good looking. The CAR finish is very deep and nice.

Tonally, I'm going to have to get used to it. I've gotten to used to my DJ's neck pup, and the Dunn is definitely different. Much more throaty in the middle of the neck, chunkier in the lows, and the high end is less hollow sounding. Cool, but honestly I wasn't instantly jumping for joy. I've worked the EQ some and it definitely made me smile a little. I need to gig it a bit before I come to any conclusions.

The Lakland CAR is really deep....I agree! love that color!

GREAT P description.....sounds GREAT to me....play it some more...it will grow on you...trust me...and Randy - he was once a J only player now he is a P convert....try it in a band setting THEN comment on how well you like it....
