I compared my 44-02 with a 44-01 last night and I liked the 01 better. It was definitely more aggressive sounding, and I've begun to rethink my opinion of my amp. The guy who owns the 01 wants to trade basses along with an amp and a POD. I think I'm going to do it. :hiding:

Another bonus about this particular 44-01 is that it's a bit lighter. Since I'm an out-of-shape wuss, this is a good thing. :D

just watched Ed Friedland's review of the Phil Jones Flightcase amp. I was surprised in a good way how nice his 55-01 sounded. Not all of it was my choice, but still.

you got him! He hasn't bought a Lakie for himself for a week... juss' the wifey and kids. But man, aren't they gonna cry when you disassemble, defret and then sell their basses?!!

I just wanted to get someone interested. What I was leading to, since the 55 series MME has four (twice 2+3 string) coils, there is a chance they could be connected as a P5.

Yeah, we all are sick...
But, this time for something completely different
Firstly, a six-string
Secondly, it's gonna have an ultra short scale. And I don't mean like Alembic, Gibson or the MicroDecade, no! This one's gonna have a 25'5" scale.
Last but not least, the tuning! Thin, I mean THIN strings. Not your grandpa's piccolo bass, this one is a EHGDAE!

So, I called my buddy (a newbie bassist) who's currently saving for his first "real" bass, a Fe*der Squeer vintage vibe 60's style P. He's the guy who bought Markus' Carvin/Peavey rig recently (thanks again Markus). He went with me yesterday to hear what a REAL P bass sounds like ;).

Anyways, I asked him... he said Kobol felt better (he likes the US neck's finish), but the "red bass was punchier".

So, I can't wait to gather more opinions.

Then, I'll switch to Chromes on the Dunn, and put steel rounds on Kobol.... and do it all over again, hehehe.

I just got Terry's LPB Glaub and I am not sure who sold the P/J one.

Mine will definitely not go anywhere as I have been searching a long time for a LPB Skyline. It was like my grail bass.

well I guess I know why Dan's not making a Skyline P5. The wait's insanely stirring the market for the P4-s, and no ad expense involved! :D
