Good lord. What a horrendous game that was last night. Losing to Montreal? WHAT ARE WE DOING? Jarry clearly isn't right. He's gotten run in two of his last 3 starts, if I'm remembering correctly. After that fight against the NYR Sunday they come out and play a game like that. Wow. Total

Yeah, once again, the top two lines were good enough to win, but the bottom six were a disaster. Again. And 100% on Jarry, he's fighting either a lingering physical injury and/or he's struggling mentally. No confidence.Good lord. What a horrendous game that was last night. Losing to Montreal? His minutes were lower yesterday than they'd been in a long time, maybe Sullivan is finally noticing how bad he's become. Carter only played 8:28. How do you go -4 in eight minutes?!? That's gotta be a record for futility.
Just noticed Heinen played six minutes and was -2. Mentor and student?

When Carter came to Pittsburgh I loved him. His in-laws actually live very close to me. I had dreams of hanging out with Big Jeff after he retired. haha. Same here. That first month or so after he arrived in the 'burgh were awesome. But it's been a fast and steady slide downward since. And he'll be on the books for a $3.125 salary cap hit next year even if he retires this summer, if I understand the CBA 35+ rules correctly.
Yeah I think that's right. I've heard people say even if he retires it doesn't help the cap situation.
It kills me too every time we play a team with a former Pen that Hextall traded away, all of whom appear to be much better players than the guys we got in return. McCann, Matheson, etc.
I'm usually happy to see former 'Bolts do well with their "new" team-as long as it isn't against "us", that is.
Fun night in St. Louis: nearly had a fight between Binnington and Fleury!
Said it before, and I'm sure it'll be said again, Binnington is a tool. He is today's version of the Hanson Brothers from Slapshot. Except everybody liked the Hansons.
Binnington is such a clown. I didn't watch the game, but I saw headlines of a near fight on social media this morning. MAF has been talking lately about a goalie fight. I have no idea if he can fight but I was hoping he'd dummy Binner if they had.
Fleury said recently he had 3 goals when he came into the league. Get in a fight, score a goal and win the cup. He said he got in a fight in Juniors and broke his hand and had to miss a bunch of time and so right now at the end of the season isn't a good time to fight. Which is funny that just a few days later he's trying to fight. haha.
Yep. except that lately the radio apps
are out of sync with the ESPN broadcast by a good bit which is difficult to watch too.
At least when I watch a Wings game on ESPN, it's almost always the Bally Sports broadcast and they are a fun and knowledgeable crew. Two broadcasters to talk and interview and 3 or four ex players calling and commenting on every game.

Unfortunately, where I live I can't pick up any radio feeds and my flip phone doesn't do apps. I just do my best to ignore the 'commentary'.
NHL Network's games aren't any better when they do it themselves. Yesterday's Caps-Wild game was called by Jamie Hersch and Kevin Weekes. Hersch was absolutely terrible, repeating the same anecdotes and bringing up the same points several times throughout the game. And Weekes, who I think is great as a panelist on NHL Tonight, etc, was like a giddy little kid yesterday anytime Ryan Reaves was on the ice. Both of them kept trying to will a fight between Reaves and Tom Wilson all during the third period. Amateur Hour at its best.
I have no problem with whoever calls the games if they're qualified. Everybody starts in the minors and works their way up. Players and coaches do not start off at the NHL level, neither should broadcasters.
