Noble Amps Preamp

thanks to those few who posted their Noble control settings, anyone else want to share ?
I know its easy enough to try different combinations of settings, but I am interested in how others are using this great box.

thanks, and Happy Monday to all!

I've used the Noble with the Cali76 with settings as high as 12 for both bass and treble with it still being tight. Now I prefer the settings around myself around the 9 mark for each. The Noble is one of the cleanest and tightest tube preamps you will find anywhere.

9:00 or less on bass. 8:00 or less on treble. Otherwise the Noble has a tendency to become pretty flubby.
hmmm, interesting, I have not experienced any flubby-ness with my Noble, even when pushing the Bass level up quite high. Of course, when I do that, I also flip on the HPF, or I use my Fdeck v3 to remove mud.

These days I do tend to run my Noble Bass: 9-10:00, Treble: 12-1:00, but for certain tracking situations (not live), I have pushed the Bass way up and with the HPF switched on, it has sounded pretty great (and appropriate for the track).

I actually used the Noble with my Koa Roscoe this Sunday ans pushed the bass and Treble quite high just below the 12 mark with using the bass set flat with the exception of mids slightly past center detent and it was one of the best tones I've ever had. It's impossible to get a bad tone out of the Noble IMO.

These go up to 12?

On a side note, one of the best perks I love about the Noble is that I've never had better IEM tone that I get with it. That comes from someone that has gigged a Reddi, Khan Tube DI, Firefly, SLO, Starlifter, Trickfish, Mesa Subway plus and many others. The tone the Noble gives in my Shure 425 buds is downright magical. I haven't used a amp in months and don't miss it a bit.

I will agree with that sentiment. The Noble and P15 are the best iem mixes I’ve had. Honestly preferred the P15 a touch more but ended up keeping my Noble because of the form factor. I just like simple things nowadays.

My bandmates have given compliments on how good the bass sounds through their IEMs, too. Lots of thickness but also with clarity

I found a really nice tone on the Noble this past weekend experimenting. I had the Bass and treble around the 12 noon setting and engaged the HPF switch. I normall run the HPF off with the bass and treble around the 9 mark and love it but this gives even more clarity and punch.

Agreed. When I received my Noble last summer, I didn't have a HP/LP pedal yet (my RFE showed up in the fall). I ran the Noble with the HP switch on and set the bass and treble between 11:00 and 1:00. I used it this way on some big festival stages as well as theatres and clubs. The tone was unbelievable. Since getting the RFE, I keep the HP switch off and bass and treble around 9:00. I may need to experiment some more to see if I can still use the HP switch and crank the bass some. The settings I used last summer provided the best iem tone I ever had.

Just checked out the RFE by Broughton. Seems pretty interesting!
