Bergeron also ended the game when he cleared the zone with about 10 seconds left. Montreal was mounting some pressure with the empty net.

Meh,....I'm surprised the Flyers even got one point out of that game. Sloppy 2nd period and while they came at the Avs in the 3rd Colorado was pretty solid defensively. Briere got lucky on that GTG. If that ref hadn't have gotten out of the way by jumping up one the net (seriously,...9 times out of 10 on a play like that the ref WOULD have been in the way) and Giggy not holding the puck up against the net; that play is dead in the water and it's game over.
Apparently Bryz sucks in shootouts. 0-3,...really? C'mon man,...

Add Colby Armstrong to the NHL concussion team. About all they need now is a goalie.
Lucic is turning into the new Matt Cooke. Not quite as bad at this point, but he seems to be laying the groundwork for a bad reputation. At least Chiarelli admits it may be an issue for his team.
Bummer to see Edmonton lose, but no shame in losing to Jimmy Howard and the Wings.

Yeah, what is it with the Flyers in shootouts?! And why didn't Laviolette have Jagr in the first 3 shooters? If nothing else, a guy like that makes the goalie think, "Oh crap!" when he's getting ready to skate in. That's half the battle right there...
I would've gone Jagr over Read for sure, but maybe Lavy saw something in his game last night that caused him to pick the rookie. :shrugs:
I'm surprised JVR scored on his attempt. He needs to step up in the absence of Giroux. He's slumping at the moment (7 games without a goal). I'm wondering if he is operating at 100%. I'm also wondering if the Flyers might make a move with JVR to acquire a defenceman.

I'd hate to see them trade JVR. Of course the trouble is, I like a lot of the current Flyers, so there aren't a lot I'd like to see go. You never know what Holmgren will do deal-wise though...
You guys are way more into the day-to-day goings-on of the Flyers, but for my $.02, I can't fathom them trading JVR for anything less than a superstar. He just seems like a really solid two-way guy who covers a lot of ice and can contribute in a lot of ways. The Flyers are definitely one of the deepest teams in the league, but even with all that talent, I see JVR as being one of the team's mainstays.
I'd add Briere to that list too.
Caps won last night! Sadly, that's kinda a big deal these days. Ovechkin, Backstrom, and Semin all scored, and in general, the Caps really controlled the game play. Hopefully they can keep it up, although consistency has not been one of their strengths this season.
After that game, I caught the last half of the third period of the Hawks/Pens game. I was glad to see that the Hawks rallied back to at least make it a fun finish. Malkin's been on an absolute tear of late, and it's impressive that the Pens consistently win big games with so many people injured. Granted, I hope they eventually collapse
spit, but they've got a ton of talent and IMO, the best head coach in the game.
As a Philly sports nut, I must say I really love Bryz's mask he's going to wear during the Winter Classic!

What happened the Wild? They quietly climbed to the top of the league, then when everyone started paying attention, they went and lost five in a row now.
Looking forward to see if Chicago bounces back at home tonight against Montreal. I'd like to watch the DET/VAN game, but a 10PM start means I won't make it to the third. I'm old.

Apparently scoring 4 points in your first game back from a concussion is no big deal... everyone is doing it! 
Tonight is the Kings first game with Daryl Sutter behind the bench. I'm really hoping he can get the ship headed in the right direcion, and the Kings start improving their goal production. I believe the talent is there, they just need a better system to make it work.
G's first game back was a good one. I'm sure he wanted to get back on the board as soon as possible to shake off the rust as a result of missing 4 games. I expected to see at least an assist,...but for G to factor in on all 4 goals for the Flyers last night; I did not expect.
Not sure what precipitated it,...but there was an awful lot of yapping going on between the two teams. The refs kept a lid on it barely,...but Lavy and Ott got into it:
