I had to replace the Franklin Ring strap that I recently lost and wound up getting a 4" Moody black leather strap with black suede backing. It wasn't cheap but I feel it was worth it.
The suede backing keeps my slightly neck heavy Tbird from diving, one less distraction when I'm playing. It's plain and understated, but feels very good across my shoulder.
My experience with leather goods: jackets, shoes, gloves etc is that it is a false economy to buy cheap leather. The stuff looks and feels cheap and usually falls apart quickly. I like to get good quality leather and then take care of it by keeping it clean and oiled.
