Of course the Mesa will have a tad more slam....you're comparing class D to a lead sled and iron transformers.
I have the TH500 now and honestly like it better than my Mesa M9, but that's me. The TH has more complex, chewy mids and plenty of thick girth to slam at 4 ohms plus it's 3.8 pounds and fits in the front pocket of my gig bag.

I can relate...
Right-on Torn!
Hehehe
KILLER!!! Congratulations! Did you buy from a TBr?
I just wanted to take a moment to recognize Iceboxbass and his newly acquired multi quote mastery. Good work Ice!
WooHoo!I'll be in town for a few days Sep. 12-15. Lets get together. Besides trying out your new bass rig, I'd like to finger around on your new Spectors...and maybe a reunion with #36.
I might even be tempted to buy her back if you still haven't sold.
Mike that sounds great but we will be living with my 80 year mother god bless her soul ...lol till our new home is complete shes in great health and I'm sure she would be down for some bass thumping and plucking so shouldn't be an issue . Its about a 1/4 mile from were we live now. So get in touch when the time gets closer . Hey I will make you deal u can't refuse brother .. I got another axe I can't mention on this thread you can try out too.![]()

congrats! My new (old) NS2000/4 is on its way...can't wait! Pics when she finally shows up.
I've very curious to try a BQC or OBP-3, but I love the TP... hmm and as much as I like the haz copies in my ns2a and ns2000/5 I much prefer the TP and maybe even a BQC or OBP-3The shoot out is over for me. I traded the trim pot TP out of my LX for an EMG BQC, and now I need one for my Rex. Can put the mids much more to the front! I should have just got one before I got rid of my TH500, but now I have a reason to try an MB Fusion before I go back there...
On the other hand, Levi, who I traded with, says he's very happy with the TP. It's so much in each players head and ear.
I would love to hear the BQC through the TH500. But who knows; that may happen, eventually.
The two band EMG (BTC?), has sharper highs, but not brittle, and very nice lows, especially through 2 "J" pups, like my former NS2-JAR. However still not enough cutting mids for me. First the BQC for my Rex, then maybe a pair of DC's, if needed.![]()
Which 215 are you using Lee? In one of my former bands I played thru a Kustom 215 but the Amp really SUCKED (It was the house amp where we practiced) so I really never heard the 215's full potential.![]()

Noooooo....don't give inI like the 3.8 pounds and I would love reducing the speaker cabinet size and weight but man these new NS2 basses are sounding sweet in my old Peavey Mark 8 running into the 1820 cabinet except when I play at the casino because of the dead floor...I like to feel the cabinet on the floor with the 18" vibration with the twin 10" popping on top, plus the 9 band EQ in the amp adjusted to your recommendation is providing a nice mid.
Yet....I feel the need for exploration!
What you have sounds awesome
I love the floor vibes of a great 18". Everyone feels it!

Congratulations brother cyclops! My new (old) NS2000/4 is on its way...can't wait! Pics when she finally shows up.

Thanks...it's great to feel soooo much better after 3 years too.I knew that you would find the humor Ice, glad your feeling better bud!!!!
No worries Grasshopper...I will teach you everything there is to know about multi quoting.I hope he will teach me how to use it! lol
Cool...ThanksJohn Myung![]()
It's a Dually 215, a spec set cab designed by greenboy and built by one of his certified custom builders. Mine was built by Don Barry or Barry Audio Design.
Here it is in the background with my, then, Mesa M9 on top.

Good to know for future use. I need to order a D string as it wouldn't fit my Coda as its the longest and these were on my former Forte 5 for a short bit. I tried but I broke it winding it too tight just to get 1 winding. Thanks man (and everyone else in the club too). Seriously, I can't concentrate at work the last two days. Then I went to guitar center and they just got in a legend 5 classic, so I'm even more antsy after playing that for a minute. Haha.![]()
Will this be your first Spector bass?
Interesting - the 2-band EMG BTC didn't work for me (had one in my recently sold CRFM), so I plan on swapping out the non-trim TP in my white Euro for the trim version. Sam, Patrick & Donnie have convinced me that it should suit my tonal requirements nicely.

Just finished swapping out the GHS flat wounds for GHS Black nylon tape wounds...I'm in love all over again! <3 Love that near upright bass tone...so smooth, full tones with lots of sustain. But yet...if I raise the Aggie jazz pickups close to the strings it gets gritty, real gritty. And my B-15T was pounding my legs!Good to know for future use.
