The super fatman is not exactly easy to set up but it doesn't seem as sensitive as the mini mu to how much input gain is going into it so when i turn the fuzz on the filter is still stays in the sweet spot i set it to.

yeah you're right actually - took me forever to get the levels etc right, but it was worth it in the end. the internal charge pump is a godsend too, why don't more people do that?

did you fiddle with the trimpots at all? i haven't even looked inside yet.

Well I Drove way out into the hills and got myself one of the Epi EB-0 basses the guy had for $100.

Wasn't "new" like he said, but does come in a box. Turns out he sells factory restock epiphone stuff and they sent him like thirty EB-0's that look pristine, and worked, so $100 for "new" works for me. So other than having "used" stamped into the finish on the back of the head stock it's good, and since I'll be gutting it, it's whatever.

its a device which converts DC to DC, you can get more DC voltage from a smaller suppler like 9V to 18V or it can also do bipolar supply give you a -9V tap from a 9V source

of course Pin = Pout (ideal scenario) so increasing the voltage requires more input current. These devices are also current limited, like i said a LT1504 can only do a max of 100 mA.

Well hopefully it works out for the best in the end.

I got the bass, and my girlfriends ordering the pickup now.

Searching for the biggest gauge flat wound short scale strings I can find. Such a long and specific search, and yet I still mainly find offers for long scale rounds mostly...

The first EB-0 I got seemed very maraschino cherry, this is a much darker cherry so I am glad, even in a lot of light, very rich dark grain, and a darker finish.

Well I've read people call it annoying, I haven't had to adjust yet, won't bother til I got new strings.

I have read that the posts in the body are screwed into little cups that are pressed in the body, not screwed it. I saw evidence of why this is an issue on a bass the guy had as the front post was yielding to the pressure and leaning towards the head stock. People said it's an easy fix if it becomes an issue.

I am not sure the BA bridge of any sort works on the EB-0 without work, but the Hipshot SuperTone is $80-$100 new and it's the actualy direct replacement bridge for all Epi/gibby bass types stuff with the 3 pole.

No amp right now, but man the heft to the unplugged tone is great.
