It was an RE20 clone. I was going to use it with DI. Can you tell I've been lurking outside the thread... Lol
i think you'll like it. Personally I think they benefit from a HPF so if you find they are farting out or not loud enough I would give it a try with an HPF.
yeah me too but I'm holding out for some Dunwich pedals. Trying to convince a friend of mine to give it a try though that way I can hear it in person.

Is it for sale yet? Any idea how much? I feel like I could sell off my El Oso and grab one of these and it might work better as an A/B with my WF for some diversity.

So one of the bands we're playing with tomorrow has a problem with their van and wants to borrow drums, bass cabs and guitar cabs. Normally I wouldn't have a problem but I need to GTFO as soon as our set is done because I'm driving to Mississippi on Sunday and have to leave at the ass-crack of dawn. We don't have a van and each take our own vehicle so when I leave, my cabs need to leave with me.
Drummer hasn't responded yet, but he usually plays his vintage Ludwig kit - I can't imagine him wanting another drummer beating the poopie out of his heads.
I feel for the guys, having a van issue isn't fun, I'd like to help but I'm not going to miss more sleep because their van broke down.

Oh nice. That's not bad at all. Might just go order one. My guitarist already rocks a Fnord and Quantum Mystic.

I told you guys we wrote and recorded a new song to be used for a locally filmed and produced zombie movie. Well last night we got to go to a private pre-screening for cast, crew, and musicians who contributed to the soundtrack. All the music on the movie was made by local Pittsburgh musicians, and there's going to be a soundtrack for the movie released. They really wanted to help showcase local music in the movie. It was pretty fun when we recorded the track a couple of months ago. They brought the director, head writer, head videographer and head photographer into the studio with us to shoot a behind the scenes music video. Overall the process has been really cool.
So yeah, we got to see the movie last night. It was pretty rad. It's still months away from actually being released, so it wasn't a final polished product, but I really enjoyed it. I guess I didn't really understand how significant our song was going to be in the movie. They used it for the final scene and the end credit scenes. It starts off in a mellow minor Deftones like mood during the final buildup, and then right as the movie title card hits the screen, the song kicks into a big heavy fuzzed out riff and then the zombie hoard descends on all the people. It gave me chills, getting to see that on the big screen with our song playing. Definitely one of my top moments of being a musician.

That really sucks, but renting a uhaul or van somewhere else isnt expensive compared to the cost of gear. They should look in to it.
It looks like one of my friends who plays guitar is interested in buying my SG. He asked if I could help him sell his 1982 Gibson Flying V bass if he buys it. I'm gonna try to check it out this weekend, but I know they only made like 400 or less of them. He said it was modded to have a Badass bridge and maybe some replacement pickup in the bridge, but no neck repairs and the original aged white finish. I'm gonna have to do some research on going rates. If anyone here wants first dibs, I'll make it happen.
An RE20 is a broadcast mic, which actually works pretty well with bass. A lot of people use them for bass or kick regularly, but it's not specific to either source (there are a ton of kick specific dynamic mics though). Don't know how good the clone is, but the originals are great for bass.
