Yes, I've enjoyed my Rumble 500 combo as my main big rig for coming up on 7 years this summer. It is an awesome amp!

Similar thing happened here in Mass. Krispy Kreme opened a bunch of locations all over the state and now there are maybe a couple left. People initially went gaga for them and then just kept buying Dunkin, I guess.I was waiting for someone to make that comment, glad I could count on you!
Just to set the record straight, the music company is Sweetwater, and the donut company is Sweetwater's Donut Mill.

Big difference. When Krispy Kreme came to town, they lasted about 2 years before realizing that folks who had both preferred Sweetwater's. Then the double kay went on it's way, and things went back to normal in sugarville.
Yeah, Dunkin keeps trying. They tend to be a second choice option around here. There's a place that makes fancy tiny donuts, and they seem to be doing OK. But Sweetwater's has at least 3 stores in the area. They are hard to beat. Planning to stop there tomorrow.

So if I wanted to get an ampeg 410 cab and a head that will sing as sweetly as my BA210 but punch a bit harder and tighter when I want it to, which head would I want to look at? Or would the extension cab bring me at least 75-80% there without shelling out a grand plus?
I'm assuming the BA head has is a dumbed down version of something they offer?

Likely the extension cab will do it for you for well under a grand.
I'll be parting ways with the Markbass combo even if they fix the noise issue so I'm looking at options. The glock and the BBC cabs seem really cool but they are pricey. Then I realized I'm in love with the peg spund so why look elsewhere. Especially when I can grab the extension so cheap and the rest could be a new bass.

What I find — and speaking strictly in my current experience of my own gear, for I've not played any BA series larger than the 108v2 — is a second cab adds apparent "weight" to my ear. It's not that it gets a great deal louder (3db) with a second cab. But it seems to speak with more "authority".

Been playing a variety of basses through this amp and I'm really liking it. My G&L Tribute L2500 sounds amazing thru it. The amp is very well built. It feels like a small tank. The tone is rather neutral but not flat or sterile. I've had the EQ knobs centered most of time. That being said, when using the EQ it is quite responsive and musical. By comparison, my Cavin BX250 EQ knobs don't produce a lot of variation.
I haven't had to have the amp above 1-1.5 on the volume knob (which is still quite loud in my very open living room), so I don't know how it sounds at higher volumes for a gig. I'm hoping to get back to rehearsing and gigging this year.
Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

Over the last few years I've gigged exclusively with head+cabinet rigs for my modest gigs (ie jazz/big band). I always bring an extra head, but not an extra cabinet. Likewise I always bring 2 basses.
How does the combo community handle the "having a backup" situation for gigs? Is it just a DI for a PA? Is it a second combo? Does your combo give you the option to plug in a different amp (ie. you can detach the speaker from the mounted head and use another head)? Do you not care about having a backup?

And that is exactly what I'm looking for, just more weight.
The Ampeg 410 comes with casters, and it can hold some weight...

The DI that is part of the VT Bass pedal is my backup. I've never had to use it for that, but have used it to go ampless.
Always a great discussion going on in the combo club, but I’m going on record as to let everyone know that swink is killing it today. Hahaha
I keep an older P____ MAX110 in my van as a "just in case" and I always take my backup bass. It usually stays(well hidden) in the van.
