Personally, I like stainless rounds on the BH5.
It's very organic, and a little dark by nature; so, stainless for me.
I have DR HiBeams on mine-which is also swirly

she's a few days away yet...but I'll take a family portrait with the lime green PJ for sure. I put DR Black Beauties on that one...and so far they seem to be a good fit. So chromes may be overkill on the houser, eh?

Huh. It never occurred to me to try tapes on my Houser.

How about a "verbal" description of the difference in sound with tapes?

My teensy PC speakers are totally useless for bass clips anyway.

That seller (Engage757) used to be here on TB... always had something in the classifieds, and always fishing for a trade. I was under the impression that he was stealing basses, and hocking them on TB. It would be hard to track a stolen bass that was traded to some guy on the other side of the country without a money trail. Maybe I shouldn't judge. Unsubstantiated? +1 to this. Even with nickels it's a dark bass.

Awful fun to play though, and lots of tonal variety within its spectrum.
