I have the black P4 in my hands! I can see what everyone was raving about at the GTG. This is a plain ol' sweet @$$ bass. It compliments my J5 perfectly. Here's a Pic of the pair in front of my mini-rig of doom!

Me too, very nice bass, looking forward to seeing final pic's and hopefully soundclips. I hope I'll have some pic's to show in about 6 months or so, when my Valenti is done, in the words of Tom Petty "The waiting is the hardest part".

Time to bring back the numbers

I am going through stage 3 right now, and its a pain in the butt because I want to order now Need to check my finances in 2 weeks though to be sure

But this is atleast what I have planned:

5 string jazz (the small body type)
Swamp ash body
5A Quilt maple as top
3A Birdseye fretboard
Normal maple neck
Sadowsky preamp with vtc
Nordstrand Big singles
Black hardware
Hipshot A-Style bridge


Going for a transparent blue colour, inspired by this bass [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

What do you think?

Does anyone know offhand if Nino is able to do different knob layouts on his basses? I only remember only ever seeing knobs in a straight line or in the smiley face layouts. Just wondering if he could do a diamond shaped knob configuration.

Yes, I would use the Diamond Control layout.

Another question for Nino...

The heel can be contoured for better acces to the upper frets... But can the lower cutaway be contoured/cut deeper for easier acces to the upper frets too? How far can they be cut? I mean until which fret?

Ok I've looked at the pictures again and I've seen it's possible. Cool, makes me want one even more!!

Only things left to decide are scale lenght and bridge.
