Thunderbird Club

1. Age restricted? Why?
2. Sounds fantastic.
3. I learned to play Ziggy Stardust and love playing it, but for the life of me, I can't remember it. I have to look at notes to do it.
4. You nearly had the Nigel Tufnel moment talking about sustain!

I learned that a few years ago for a band out here but they wanted me to sing it, it would have taken me quite a bit of time to learn it well enough to sing it at the same time besides the fact that it's not my style of vocal but I do love that line in the song.

So what are the odds? According to FedMess my equipment is just outside Bakersfield. They seem to be working about 12 hour shifts before parking for the night. Anyone want to guess if they take Easter Sunday off? If so, they aren't making a Monday delivery in the Bay Area...at least not to me.

Sounds like it’ll hit the sorting facility near you on Monday then go out for delivery on Tuesday.
......

My UPS-adjacent package has become all UPS, and the original 4/19 delivery date has been bumped up to 4/18, even with "mechanical failure" :D

"Arrived at Facility

It should go out for delivery tomorrow......

My goodies are now in Stockton…I’ve seen this play before. FedMess roulette. Will the next stop be Tracy or the black hole of Hayward.

I've had those guys run my stuff up & down NorCal, before they finally decided to deliver, hopefully they won't be that mean to you :nailbiting:

So this is the bass I have owned the longest since 2003. Wife got it for me for our 7th Wedding anniversary. Doesn't get played much anymore now that I'm not playing out but not going anywhere either.
Question for folks.
1. Can I get a number to join the club?
2. If you have replaced the bridge on your Tbird. Which bridge did you change to and also has it helped in making the bass easier to set up/more playable?
I loved playing this bass live. It was a visceral experience. It was like wrestling an alligator. Very R&R. Gibson Tobaccao burst with EmG PJ humbuckers. Sound guys loved this thing. However at this point it would be nice to have it a bit easier to play. Myself and professionals have always had a rough time getting this set up. Thanks in advance for your insight.

Only 19 years? Harrumph! I've owned this one 49 years. Welcome aboard.

I love the Hipshot Supertone. (I assume you are replacing a three point bridge). The saddles stay in and are adjustable for height and lateral spacing, with more intonation spacing as well. The Babicz has fans as well. (Just beware of sharp corners.)

Grrrr… I almost clicked the button for a couple chrome bird covers… but I don’t know how many I need…

I’m trying to decide if I’m removing a bridge pickup from both my NR’s, AND both my Embassy basses… OR if I’m removing just one for my DC… if I’m just removing one…which one? Maybe a a probucker from an embassy, not sure…

so my DC is going to have a ring… and a single neck pickup, vol tone and front mounted jack…

Nice bridge, even has string spacing adjustments.
Which bird is the lucky recipient?

Killer stage photo! Welcome to the club, I’m sure our Queen will be by shortly to assign a number to you.
As for bridges, if you don’t want to drill any holes, the best options are Hipshot and Babicz.

No 'birds will be harmed in the installation of the 3D-5 bridge :D

Yet ;)

It's for my sr885le - the stupid grub screws on the original bridge, sticking up into my hand always, finally got on my last nerve :meh:

But, I eventually want to put a set of chrome FCH-1 Solorails on it, and if that happens the 3D-5 may go to the Pro V Epi :)
