And that's the point, isn't it? Those would probably be perfect for drumming. They don’t go with anything I have.
To quote an English boss I had, they couldn’t hold a piss up in a brewery. No kidding! Those guys could screw up an iron ball with a rubber hammer these days.
Only hesitation I truly would have would be to replace those stock pickups. They sound AWESOME and would be a shame to take out.
Out of curiosity, if you were to go down this round to replace all hardware to gold, what would you choose for pickups?
You can replace or plate the covers rather than replace the pickups.
Some of us have been accused from time to time as having no standards. Drinking was usually a precursor...
The pg on my 13 is slightly raised under the neck. Putting them closer eliminates that issue.one on the left is a ‘13..
Love the wood body on that Factorbird!

I´ll take better pics during weekend.
Oh, I am really curious to hear the second bass with the Loli pop style pickups!! Great collection
Love the wood body on that Factorbird!
Looks even better! I’ll take a double helping of the eggs and toast, hold the butter, throw in some scones and clotted cream, and while you’re at it how about a fresh pot of Earl Grey or Builders.
nice! you guys do kippers in Oz?..
I do this all the time, never had any issues. Here’s a how to post I put out some time ago…
Note: you may find that the head of the neck screw is too large to fit down in the strap pin opening like it should. If that's the case, just chuck the threaded end of the neck screw up in a hand drill...

...pull the trigger and touch the screw head edge to the concrete floor in your garage or driveway for a second or two (it won't take long, just do a little bit at a time) until it fits down in the strap pin recess.
Thanks! I didn't know he was that early in doing Thunderbird pickups. Never really thought about it I suppose. But when I used "first," I wasn't thinking about chronology but the position in replicating the tone of the originals. But I have no doubt whatsoever the Lulls are outstanding. I've not tried either personally, but was going on what I was told. I know I would likely sell some basses if a Lull to my liking came up.A mild correction here, Mike Lull was at least two years ahead of any body with a correct vintage reproduction Thunderbird pickup.
yes, Irish pubs serve white pudding as well….
illegal? lol try telling a mexican they can’t have their morcilla…
Thanks for kind offer, but I was thinking you need to take it around as authors do when they do a new book! I can see about getting you into the Speed Art Museum at UofL. Lord knows it will look better than some of the things that have passed through there, and people will know what it is.Sure, you can tour my bass room, Come on down, you’re always welcome, as is everyone else here. I guarantee you’ll go home with more basses or guitars or gear or accessories than you came with.![]()
This kind of confirms I don't have any British linage. But am thrilled you liked it my friend!nothing like a good ole english fry up and a big pot of tea after a night of TBird action….

It’s not an easy song to play note for note while concentrating on the rhythm. I know I couldn’t play it.Good evening Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. Happy to report that I took the new NR Bird to my lesson today and surprised the heck out of my instructor. He gave it a once over and convinced me to let him raise both pickups a bit. I have to say it gave it some additional growl. I very happy with it so far, it seems to have been built with great attention to detail. I may try some flats, or pressure wounds or some such on it soon.
I am attempting to learn Fool in the Rain by Led Zeppelin. My band is hoping to add it and I am having some difficulty with JPJ's bass line. I don't seem to have found the the right transcription yet. If anyone has any leads or advice on learning this song, I would greatly appreciate it. It is a great song, and the more I listen to it, the more I hear going on with his playing.
I hope everyone is having a good week. Stay warm. Stay well.
I'd sure make an offer if I were looking for one. But I prefer the IVs. Other than the neck repair, I'm happy to see that mine looks to be in a little better shape.
Good! It needs a great home where it will be appreciated and played. Hope it goes well!PM sent to seller.
