By many accounts that bass is (or was) almost unplayable. Ridiculously high action, etc. Could possibly be fixed, but just the history alone or some residual Jamerson magic might rub off on you. Good choice.

Jamerson wasn't exactly kind to his instrument (never changed a string unless it broke. Never EVER cleaned it...lose the dirt, lose the funk) and the action was probably set crazy high because he was a UB player.
And yes...I know it's just a bass...but still, come on! Just holding that kind of history in your hands...that's my dream bass.
