Whats your dream bass?

My dream bass isn't one that's actually made. I'd have to find someone to make it for me.

Body: Spector Rebop (the bolt-on)
- Solid bookmatched quilted maple
- Satin bahama blue finish
- Chrome individual bridge saddles
- Sadowsky knobs
- Aguilar P/J pickups
- 3-band Aguilar EQ w/ active/passive & series/parallel switches

Now...everyone's looking at that like "What's so hard to do there???"
Well, here's the neck specs...

- 5 string
- Dingwall style Fanned Fret (37"-34")
- Chunky profile
- maple 3-5 piece construction
- flamed maple fingerboard
- black mother of pearl Spector inlays
- 24 fret
- Body matched headstock
- Brass nut
- Vintage height frets

This isn't something that Spector makes, nor do I foresee them ever making it. :(

Yep...it's the bass version of Excalibur. Only the one true master could wield it. (...I'm not that guy, btw)

Yes...and?

Jamerson wasn't exactly kind to his instrument (never changed a string unless it broke. Never EVER cleaned it...lose the dirt, lose the funk) and the action was probably set crazy high because he was a UB player.

And yes...I know it's just a bass...but still, come on! Just holding that kind of history in your hands...that's my dream bass.

I'm starting to think I will never be set on one dream bass. I think I really want one thing, then my situation changes, and I want something else. There are basses I think I want, but have never been anywhere near, nor am I likely to be, so I think I want them, but who knows if I actually will.

Lakland Skyline 44-64 Custom PJ in either white or black. Absolutely awesome PJ bass - I was told by Leo that the pickups on this are the USA made/wound ones they use on the more expensive models. I plugged it in at NAMM a few weeks back and did nothing with the GK demo amp they had and it sounded fantastic!

My dream bass is a custom idea that I have. It's basically a 35" scale fretted 4-string with a single MM pickup and an East preamp. Tuning pegs 4 in line. Ebony fretboard on mahogany neck with swamp ash body. Green burst. The best part would be designing my own body and headstock. Otherwise I'd just go out and get a MM or something.
