Obscura is using kickstarter as a place to "pre-order" the album they are releasing. Pretty cool idea. Depending on the size of the gift you give, they give you better and better pre-order packages. I think its a cool idea as a site, but I have never used it myself. Probably will in the future...

Last.FM takes artist submissions. It is basically the same concept as Pandora if you are not familiar. I think they pay royalties on each play or something as well, but don't quote me. Check that out for sure.
