I love Circa Survive, and a great OD pedal that I love is the Ibanez SM7 Smash Box. Two cents dropped. Whether the gain level is on 0 or 10, every tone in this pedal is usable IMHO

This sounds similar to the Ibanez SM-7 Smash Box, which i will also recommend. Not only does it have the hi/lo eq, it has an option for a "sharp" or "smooth" attack, and a 2 stage noise gate to keep ghosty sounding hiss from getting to your rig in between playing.

just keep picking up any affordable single effects you can find. Multis are nice, I haven't played many, but having a dedicated stomp box is the way to go IMO. Once you get enough you can play around with order, line splitting, multiple amps... the fun is endless with a bunch of stompboxes
