Yeah I should have specified what kind of music I play. I'm in a band that plays music similar to The Band, Bob Dylan, and a little bit of the Rolling Stones.

So I need a good practice amp that I can use for working out bass lines, rehearsals, and possibly some recording projects. I'd like to stay under the $200 mark if possible. Thanks! :bassist:

Honestly, I've never had a problem with the bottom end falling out on my P-Basses when I turn the treble up. But then again, Entwistle played with a TON of treble.

I'm interested in the bass with the original pickups.

I have owned MIM basses and they aren't bad, but recently I purchased a '51 Reissue which was made in Japan and I noticed the higher standard of quality instantly. Now, I can't play my MIM without noticing how it feels "cheap" to me. So I can only imagine how the quality of a MIA Precision feels.

It seems like a topic that might have been discussed several times before, but maybe not. I'm just looking for some good advice.

As mentioned before, it is a great and practical idea to have movable pickups but it looks absolutely ridiculous.

I'm sure that this thread has been brought up several times before. But I want to know everybody's honest opinion on the differences between buying an American Fender PBass and a Mexican Fender PBass. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the extra money to buy an American over a Mexican.

Absolutely stunning basses! Hopefully my next purchase will be a 50's Fender Precision to go along with my '51 RI Fender.

I've owned Jazz Basses in the past and they are solid, but for me it's impossible to beat the versatility of a Precision Bass. I will say though that I do like the unique tones that you can get out of a Jazz Bass.

My first bass was a black Squier P-Bass. My main bass now is a Fender '51 Reissue Precision Bass in butterscotch blonde.

I personally have black on my sunburst P-Bass. I think it looks really classy. I like tort but everybody with a sunburst P-Bass puts a tort pick gaurd on. Black is different.

I'm up to three basses now: 1. Fender '51 Reissue Precision Bass 2. Fender MIM Precision Bass 3. Epiphone Reissue Ripper Bass I'm hoping to get a couple more soon!

That does look beautiful! The only thing that concerns me is that I typically play right over the pickup and obviously the pickup cover would prevent that.

Does anybody know of any hardshell cases for an Epi Ripper RI? I'd love to find one...

Yeah I know it sounds shallow to worry about what's on the headstock, but I used Squires in High School and it reminds me of an amateur bass. I'm coming around on it now, though.

What are your thoughts on serious or professional musicians using Squire products? I'm in a serious band and I'm looking at buying a Squire Vintage Modified Tele Bass but I have a sort of negative view of Squire. So what do you all think of Squire?

Ok guys, I tried some of your advice at rehearsal last night. The fan stayed on the entire time and when the cutting out started to occur again, I tried the effects loop suggestion and that didn't cure it either. So I took it in to a tech today to have it looked at. Thanks for all of you help...

Ok thanks for the hint! When this dilemma happened I had been playing for probably 2 hours or so. So it's entirely possible that it got too hot.
