I have a Geddy lee jazz bass & I've adjusted the neck to its optimum forward bow. My question is that when I remove the strings it back bows a good bit. None of my other jazzes do this but they all have rosewood boards so is this common for maple board necks? Thanks guys

I have a pretty good bit of jbass fenders & do all my own setups, I've noticed on ever bass you have to put the a string action the highest to get the buzz out. Why is this? I know you are matching the radius of the board but it seems like it would be lower.

Does anyone know if you have to use a top coat on a nitro paint job? Did the original fenders have it of did the highway ones?

is it unheard of to take a seating file & flatten the bottom of a nut slot on a jazz or pbass so you can install flat bottom nuts? whats the draw back other than never being able to use a radiused bottom nut again? :bassist:

I need to get a radius block to sand the grooves out on an old fretless jazz. It looks almost flat & was wanting to know if anyone knew what the original radius is. It's a early 90s standard by the way.

I was just installing some new nuts on some of my jazz basses & was wondering if you have to glue them? & if so way? What will happen? I've noticed on some of my Mexican basses the nuts aren't really glues even from the factory they kind of just pull out.
