my bass in the anvil flight case weighs 47 lbs, only 3 lbs under the limit of 50. any case that will carry two basses will certainly incur over-weight charges.

i have a ubass, and love it, but my precision is louder unplugged than my ubass is. While that's loud enough for me to practice under some circumstances, the ubass should not be considered an acoustic bass, and you should expect to need an amp to play it.
