    Birdsong Club Pt 2

Thanks for the #. This is a memorial bass dedicated to my late wife who passed away on 6/27/20 from a heart attack. Her ashes will be mixed with a resin epoxy and fill in the knot hole on the back, (something that Scott mentioned in the description). Somehow, unfortunately/fortunately everything...

Tape or steel? La Bella Tapes are great. Thomastik-Infeld Ken Smith for steel, maybe?

Still hanging around. Keeping up on Tom's builds via F.B. and lurking here occasionally. Not much time spent playing these days due to workload. Still have all 5 Clements staring at me and feeling neglected.

#251 has a stabilized birds eye maple board which I'm guessing is quite similar to dymondwood. Very hard and fast and has held up to stainless steel round wounds. Compared to bloodwood and ebony, it's not as warm/mellow but does give plenty of tone and mwah for fretless boards.

They sound perfect for #195. I like the idea of having the gauge and scale selection.

Hey, you made it all possible. Now I just need to get a clip of #251 :hiding:

Here are a few more examples if interested. Piezo only six string hollow Anne with flat tape wounds (now that I figured out how to embed clips). Piezos give quite a another dimension to the sound. Very thorough and very nice recording Mr Walker :bassist:

More of a self control issue really. So many great wood choices, so many ideas & so little space (& play/practice time). I don't need another bass, however, wanting is a different story.

The official "Show your basses" thread part 16!

All were made to order from the woods to the electronics. Each has it's own fit, feel, tone and dynamics. Great neck geometry and overall balance.

Don't feel too bad. After I had my basses for a while I noticed a slight hummmmmm that would go away if I touched the bridge or switch. Thought it was a loose wire at first, then maybe the cable, then interference from nearby electronics. Finally realized my outlets aren't grounded. :rollno:

That it is. Also tried to include the pets, unfortunately they wouldn't have anything to do with it.

Sweet. Is it my imagination (or maybe the angle) but the neck looks as wide at the nut as it does at the last fret. Where did you get the Diamondwood board from?
