As fuzzbass stated you pay your money you take your chances. I am a person who waited eight years for my build. My trials and tribulations have been posted in this thread. I think if you order one, try to get the least amount of deposit so it doesn’t become so painful overtime. Joe is still...
Just like @Fuzzbass, I was a contestant on UPS’s We don’t know where your package is game. After retrieving it from the basement of my building four days after it was “delivered”, I would suggest to anyone who is expecting a package from UPS to require a signature upon delivery.
Here and...
R bass is a great seller and would not hesitate to purchase from him again. He was very thorough. Very patient and did a great job of communicating. The instrument is absolutely amazing. It is something I will probably keep for the rest of my life. Once again, big thanks tor bass For such a...
Finally read this entire thread. Apparently I am the third mystery man.
Elfin 6 headless 30” E-F 16.5 Alder maple/maple ebony BigRig Graphtech piezo passive buffer pre for bridge.
This seems like a really great group of individuals, and I hope to be a part of it.
You’re welcome. They are great and Andrea is really easy to work with. If you do ask him about pick up placement to get a jazz bass tone he may be able to get you hooked up. Email him or use what’s app. From the best I can tell there is no hard and fast rule for import duties. I ended up paying...
That beauty is mine. I don’t think you’re going to get a Jaco tone out of these basses. Set neck, wooden Piezo bridge 31 inch scale and 28 frets. Working with Andrea has been wonderful and I have a fretless on order. They have a very unique voice. The pickup is in the “stingray” position. If...
You can remove me from the waiting list. @bigsnack and @Rumblefisher best of luck hope you get your builds soon.
Thanks to everyone for your support over the years.
@bigsnack anything ? @Rumblefisher
anything ? Since returning I have emailed and called the shop multiple times and have received absolutely no response from them. Becoming more concerned.
In the same boat. Was promised an instrument first by the new year then beginning of February. Joe is aware I’m leaving for an extended work trip Friday. Called emailed finally received the supply chain excuse so maybe by the time I return the supply chain will fix itself. Extremely...
I’ve been waiting 6 calendar years for my bass and I have not done any customization or changed my order since it was placed. I think the fault lies with the builder not the purchaser.
@Angus waited 12 years for his Zon.
You would pretty much have to ask Joe about why it’s taking so long because I haven’t gotten a straight answer. I posted my build sheet in the Zon Club thread it’s a Vinny 6 32” w/Nordstrand pu’s and Hipshot/Graftech peizo bridge.
Nothing super custom...
Hang in there. I felt the same way about five years into the wait. I have called and emailed the shop whole bunch of times week of 11/22. Finally got an email response on 12/9. It pays to be persistent and keep letting them know that you are waiting and that you want your instrument now. I...
Agreed. If I had known what I know now after waiting 5+ years I probably would have not given them a deposit. Everyone who reads this thread can come to their own conclusions but as stated before I don’t think it was the intention of the OP to dissuade people from ordering. I think the point...
I don’t think that was the intention of the people who have been waiting or who have posted. Some people have gotten their instruments right on time some had to wait a long time. The point of this thread is not to dissuade you from ordering an instrument just to make you aware that you might...
Thanks so much for posting. I know that your interaction with the shop was less than great. Any advice to those of us trapped in purgatory. Thanks again for letting us know we are not alone.
It’s 5.5+x. If Joe had just leveled with me I would have more tolerance for situation but there of been so many lies it makes me very concerned that I will never see my instrument. There is nothing in the build sheet about when the instrument will be completed. I have posted my build sheet in...
Just a little honesty goes a long way. In terms of refunding deposits I have asked (rare time getting a response )to get mine back and Joe basically said nope read the build sheet.
The Vinny was ordered with a very specific purpose in mind for traveling. Since I ordered it I’ve received three other travel instruments from Jerome Little and Andrew Drake all great instruments and built within 10 months of deposit. I have been enjoying them immensely for the last 3 years...
