Hey all,
New to IEMs but after reading some reviews I went with the Xvive U4. Using some BASN monitors. I checked the BASNs by plugging them into the headphone jack in my amp head (Peavy Minimax). Sound was normal, I was able to adjust volume on the amp head itself.
I have the U4 plugged...
I wear my IEM receiver on my belt under my untucked shirt. I move around a lot and my shirt tends to drag over the pack and change my volume. Same thing happens if I put it in my back pocket, it moves around and the volume changes. Anyone got a quick fix for this?
I use a Shure P3RA...
The classic country/Americana band I'm in is dipping its toe in the IEM waters. Two gigs ago our steel player and I used Rolls personal mixers to mix the monitor feed from the PA with our own mics and instruments. It was my first experience with IEMs and I loved it. The bandleader had to ask me...
So i have started practicing more and jamming at home Quietly out of respect for family and small sleeping kids. I found an interface for my Ipad and need a decent set of hearing devices that can generate a great clear sound and the tone of my Bass.
1) Are IEM or studio headphones better?
2)...
Our band went IEM/ampless about a year ago and I've struggled with it ever since. I break it down into 2 key areas of issue.
1. Tone. I think I have finally addressed this from a FOH perspective (I'm using the Amplifire Bass Box and getting good tones there using a couple of IRs I got)...
Hi folks,
I am looking at upgrading my stage head. I use IEMs and currently use a TC RH750. The problem is when I connect the headphones to my in ear monitor the speaker output cuts off. Hence it is in ears or stage speaker but not both.
My question is does this also happen with the...
Sorry if this belongs in a different forum, like accessories or something. It’s about in ear monitors.
I have been researching and wanting to invest in a nice setup for awhile, but every thread I’ve found here is, “best on a budget,” or, “as cheap as humanly possible,” or, “for around $200.” My...
We've been 'using' an IEM unit on stage now for a couple years with mixed levels of buy in. I have a pack that's pedalboard mounted, but mostly go without because I found that the 'isolation' made it really hard for me to read the room, which made me feel like we're not going over...and not feed...
I made custom ear molds for my KZ iems (watched every YouTube vid), the custom molds work great! But the iems just fall out of them! No one else seems to have this problem! Can I glue the plastic iems to the silicon molds? What would I use?
I just received my custom molded IEMs. First surprise is that they are hard plastic, not semi-flexible silicone like my custom earplugs.
Once I have them in, the hurt. Just plain hurt. If I sit still they are tolerable for say 30 minutes. When I then twist them to remove them it hurts...
This is a wireless in ear monitoring system.
Brand new, barely used and comes with everything you see. Two receivers, one dual channel transmitter, 4u SKB rack case/ road case, 2u utility drawer and firman power conditioner.
The earpieces have been upgraded to the Shure SE215 Set...

...only the finest snake oil will do.
Those are Hong Kong dollars. For reference, $4800 is about US$610, $13,800 is about US$1760, and $18,000 gets you around 2300 shiny US dollars.
Needless to say, you can buy a whole lot of earbud for that much coin...
My band just recently built our first IEM setup and we decided to go the custom molded route for the ears. After some research, we settled on Best-Ears out of North Carolina. My ears came in this week and I am only a few weeks away from getting to use them for the first time. Just wanted to see...
I've decided to splash out and get really good moulded IEMs as I'm tired of the cheap ones I have that keep moving and change the bass dynamic in my ears. When I say splash out I'm still aiming to stay below four figures. Thinking around the £700-£800 mark. So much choice. I'd appreciate...
Hi all,

I'm considering buying these for wedding band use, and was wanting some opinions on how these cope with passive basses? Also I'd be running through a PA and not an amp.
I've read a lot of positive reviews on an earlier TalkBass forum for this particular model, but...
Used IEMS during last night's gig. There is a learning curve but for the most part it was a great experience. Everyone souned good in my IEMs except the guitar player. He has a lot low end in his Friedman. I was wondering afterwards if I could EQ his guitar line in my IEMs... I asked the sound...
For sale is a lightly used, fully functioning Shure PSM300 Stereo Personal Monitor System with a pair of Shure SE215 IEMs. The 488-512 MHz unit was housed in a road rack case the entire time I used it on maybe 30-40 gigs. NOTE: This unit normal comes with a different, cheaper pair of IEMs, the...

Hi,
I just won an audition for a Top 40/Wedding/Corporate/etc... band that doesn't use any onstage monitoring. Solely IEMs for everyone. I'm new to this. Anyone use the Alclair Tour Triple IEMs? They're marketing says they're what I need. Designed for Bass players (and Drummers). Also...
As the title suggests, I'm not getting enough volume from my balanced output from the amp, into my IEM amplifier.
Im using Invalid Link Removed with a Invalid Link Removed. The idea being that one channel would come from the mixing desk (this works fine) and the other input from the balanced...
A lot of people have been wondering how the KZ universal IEMs stack up against custom IEMs so here you go.
Inearz P350-XB custom triple driver IEMs
Ive been using these since March 2016. They have two low and one high balanced armature (BA) drivers per side and are tuned for extra bass. With...
64 Audio is having a 20% off sale this weekend. I think I'm finally going to pull the trigger and get the A4 custom molds.
The sale will take them from $900 to $720.
So what is comparable or better in that price range?
Just looking for opinions on what else is out there before I do it. Thanks.
Hey everyone,
I have a quick question regarding EQ ear buds. Lately, I've been getting some (what I think is called RF interference) coming through my IEMs. It seems to be tied to stages that are lit with Neon lights, though I'm not sure. I've tried troubleshooting (changing frequencies, etc)...
Took advantage of Sweetwater's 48 month financing deal to buy a Soundcraft UI16 digital mixer and Shure PSM300 IEM. As soon as I get them and get them set up, reviews will be forthcoming.

What is the difference between using a volume knob and having a limiter?
For example: I set my line-in volume on my IEMs to 3 o'clock. A sudden spike in volume (feedback or some such) comes from the FOH board and hits my IEMs. Would it be possible for the volume spike to blow my ears out? If...
