I just shed a tear and I'm serious.
That's just... beautiful. That would be my dream bass right there.
I can't imagine what it sounds like.
This is / was my bass. It's a 1982 Walnut Elite II. Ebony board. I bought it from Trutone in Santa Monica while I was on honeymoon.

It was a beautiful, beautiful bass. A work of art. But, it was heavy, so I didn't use it too often.

I sold it, and it went back over the Atlantic to Texas... I miss it.

Not mine, just a cool picture from a google search. It is a '62 P.

EDIT: On second thought, if Jamerson's Funk Machine will ever be found, this is what I'd imagine it could look like today (heavy wear on pickup cover, tip of pickguard broken revealing white layer).

Awesome. Maybe it is the Funk Machine. IMO 'The Funk Machine' is the holy grail of basses.

ALWAYS felt, the olympic white, rosewood fretboard, tort combo is truly the BOMB visually. And as far as condition goes, any condition from mint to abused works for me. I dig bursts but the more beat up the better IMO. Hey "Energy", I take your black, black with maple thank you very much. Sweet looking bass.
