This is / was my bass. It's a 1982 Walnut Elite II. Ebony board. I bought it from Trutone in Santa Monica while I was on honeymoon.![]()
I just shed a tear and I'm serious.
That's just... beautiful. That would be my dream bass right there.
I can't imagine what it sounds like.

A housemate left it in the closet when he moved out - I had it for 13 years until he resurfaced and asked to have it back!
I just can't decide!!!

There's a player who doesn't get talked about enough on here. Definitely lots of mojo on his P-bass.One of my favorite basses played by one of my favorite players; Martyn P Casey of The Triffids, Nick cave and the bad seeds and Grinderman. Great man, great bass!
I was digging through an old hdd and found this pic.

Not mine, just a cool picture from a google search. It is a '62 P.
EDIT: On second thought, if Jamerson's Funk Machine will ever be found, this is what I'd imagine it could look like today (heavy wear on pickup cover, tip of pickguard broken revealing white layer).

Awesome. Maybe it is the Funk Machine. IMO 'The Funk Machine' is the holy grail of basses.
