Dumb CL Ad's pt 5, Dumbester and Dumberest

You have got to see the pics! Think of it as purchasing a pickup and tuning keys for $7 - then it is a good deal!

$7, eh?.. Is that what a rock of crystal meth is going for now in Philly?

weird how this guy hasn't found the right band...

I'm a 20 year old guitarist/activist/health guru(ask me about it) seeking like-minded people to form a band with. I'm not afraid to speak the truth and in fact I refuse to lie to my brothers. I don't give a **** about what the average, modern audience expects.... they won't ever get it from me. No experience gigging because I was never able to find the right band for me. I could've been a bassist or a boring rhythm guitarist in a gigging band a while ago if I wanted to. It's not much different from doing repetitive, meaningless homework; I can do it, but it's so degrading.
I like mostly older music such as delta blues, blues revival, punk, funk, acid rock/psychedelic rock, hard rock, classical, reggae, folk music, even some metal and rap, too. Just nothing trendy is all.

Negative feedback is welcome. I love to hear the masses whine because someone thinks differently from them. Certainly modern society is flawless, lol.

Namaste, peace, salutations and all of that good stuff.

Haha - classic entitlement generation psycho babble...

"I'm a 20 year old with uncanny wisdom of life in general and embrace diversity except hate mongering bigots with opposing views to mine. Am looking to put together some guys that would like to smoke dope and fantasize about being in a band. Not looking to do any work and you must supply the bud. No jerks need apply - I don't understand accountability."

Seriously.........who starts a band on craigslist??

Normally, you pick up folks who are dissatisfied in other bands or are better than the folks they are currently playing with.

Can anyone give us a sucessful story of a band starting from a cragslist ad??

Wow... well, I posted a CL ad back in 2007 looking for prog musicians who needed a bassist. I met a keyboardist from the ad who was fresh out of a popular Genesis trib band, and then a guitarist with a drummer hit me up. We all four got together and were together until last year (we had to let the guitarist go). We found our current guitarist on CL and our singer as well.

I guess nething's possible, no matter how improbable! :)

The first one looks like Kristen Schaal in a slutty nurse's outfit an 10lbs of goth makeup. And the second one? Uh... what? Is that supposed to be an advertising strategy? "Gross goth chicks seeking equally gross coke heads that can maybe play a couple chords... but mainly has a suitcase full of blow."

Looking back on one of my more recent experiences with a band, had I taken the gig based on a Craig's List ad, it would have definately gone something like this:

Long established band seeks bassist!

Must be available 24/7 for gigs, running errands or being a sounding board for a sociopathic singer. A willingness to drive long distances is critical as is giving other band members rides, being able to sight read, transpose on the fly and sometimes run sound. No compensation is available for this gig, but once in awhile we are fed – unless it’s for the country club in which we will be hustled to a separate room inbetween sets so the elites don’t have to risk speaking to us. Production skills would also be a bonus as we’ll be entering the studio for the next 9 months. We need you to manage all sessions (tracking and mixing) every weekend from noon to midnight and weekdays from 5:30 to 2AM. This work will also be uncompensated, but you will receive credit on the CD format of the release which isn't expected to sell as we will be pushing it on iTunes.

I found a Danica Patrick tribute band (original ad has pictures too):

DANICA PATRICK/NASCAR Black Angel rock video now playing (San Francisco Bay Area)

Check out Black Angel's tribute to Danica Patrick winning the pole position at this years Daytona 500 NASCAR race. The song is called "She's Built For Speed" and the video link is below:

I answered a CL ad early this morning, (about one minute after it was posted), that said:

"HAMMOND B3 ORGAN FREE".

I went to look at it, and it is a B3 in a non-road "Decorator Cabinet", with a built-in speaker, and reverb, (no Leslie).

I tried to talk them down, but free was as low as they would go.

I will be renting a truck with a lift gate next Saturday to pick it up.

Now I'm looking for a Leslie.

Found you one.
