Dumbest thing you've seen someone do onstage

My friend showed me this yesterday, I thought it was pretty funny
http://youtube.com/watch?v=urlF9jrJ5O0
A fight breaks out in the pit (~2:30) and moves on stage. The bassist decides to take care of it, and using his bass like an axe smacks one of them in the back. Ouch.

Caught on tape, now there is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

"Dude, someone caved my skull in during a fight on stage, any idea who?"

"Hell yeah, it was the bassist, check out my video on Youtube and go sue his ass."

There was even a comment by someone near the camera that they'll be famous on the internet now. Too true. Lord knows they won't get famous for their music.

I was at a Shadows Fall concert in the late 90's at the Palladium in Worcester Mass.

At the end of eh show, the last song kicks in, and right before it begins the bass player decides its time to go Crowd surfing while playhing the bass.

welp, he caught everyone off guard (me included as I was RIGHT THERE) and he flew threw the air, like a dove, and then as gracefully as it begin, it ended...horribly, as nobody caught him and he slammed into the floor, knocking himself out cold.

I took his pick, and security came up and said "HIT THE LIGHTS, SHOWS OVER!"

Hmmmm....bass guitar as blunt weapon- not a good strategy

This is one that I did...

My whole band practiced playing the intro to a song with our instruments upside down and behind our heads...the place we were gigging at had some pretty low light structures and I had totally forgotten that there was a light right above my head and as I flipped the bass back over my head I shattered the lightbulb and put cuts all over my arms and face...the rest of the band just kept playing and didn't notice until the song was over...pretty embarissing

This is a true story.

A very early Red Hot Chilli Peppers Gig in Boston. The Rat 1983 or so.

In between tunes Mikey B the Flea Got to the mike and said.

"Who want to see the groundhog?"

He Turned around, Pulled down his pants squatted down and started a to crap. Got one a little bit out, pulled it back in. Pulled up his pants when to the mike and said.

"Quess it's going to be winter for 6 more weeks!!"

I guitar teched for a band called The Odds years back. Their original drummer did the "turtling" thing in the middle of his drum solo. He's jump up on his stool, turn around, drop trow, do the old in out 3-4 times, pull them up and finish the solo. They fired him not long after that tour. Can't imagine why.

I saw a semi local band known as hasten my demise. And the guitarist had a Jackson warrior goes in for a around the world. and his strap gets caught on his arm. guitar lands upside down on his back. Being the guitard he is he still tried to play. And some fat guy runs up and fixes his strap. and the song continues...

:eyebrow:

There was a band in SF, and I'm trying to remember their name, but the singer could vommit at will. He did during gigs, until the club made him stop.

The band I was in played a gig with them at the Stone, and I remember coming into the bathroom, and there was the guy and some other dudes, and one of them was saying "do it, do it".

oh, yeah, Skitzo was their name.

Years later, I saw the guy on the Jerry Springer show, with either his girlfriend or wife. I think the line at the bottom of the screen was something to the effect of "My lover pukes on me".

another one, well, I didn't see it, but my old drummer would always tell me the story.

The band was called Bionic Pidgeon and at the end of their set, the singer would blow up a bag of feathers.

The funny part, was after it happened, and after the curtains had come down, they had to go out and clean it up - in front of the crowd! hilarious!

In '06 we "toured" from NYC to FL and back. On the way home, our very last show was in some bar in North Carolina.

The band that played before us, I think their name was "Static", had set up their stuff and we noticed this orange extension cord leading to a Black & Decker circular saw. Okay...any band that has power tools as part of their gear is cool with me. Maybe.

So on their last song, the singer/guitarist takes out this guitar which is pretty much a 2x10" plank with a guitar neck on it. He plugs it in, plays the song, and at the end he turns all of this effects on, cranks up the amp, and busts out the circular saw and starts sawing wood off the end of the plank-guitar.

They have a video of it on their MySpace page:

When my band took the stage, my singer checks his mic and says "Let's have a big hand for Static, the hardest working band in construction!" and everyone, even Static, was hysterical.

About 15 years ago we were playing with a couple of other bands and the keyboard player of one of them (who now holds an Economics PhD from Chicago, BTW) smashed his head against a crash cymbal, bled all over the place and kept going :D

Years later I saw Marilyn Manson and the guitar player smashed his head against a cymbal, bled all over the place and ended the gig :scowl:

Good job, he's the Man. I hope you gave him due respect for that. Looks painful.

I did. I took his stitches out on 6th Street in Austin, during SXSW, on a TV show, in front of the venue we played that night!
