My band does the Boys II Men version of Silent Night during Christmas season...no 4th harmony because we are only 3... but we pull it off at a number of events including churches.

There are two local bands who play Sultans Of Swing and I have filled in with both of them. They do the guitar parts.
My current band has been covering the outfields your love for a while now. It always gets a good reception.
I used to cover it when I was in an acoustic duo years ago. I was mainly the guitarist/backing singer. The singer was performing in a play at one point and had to take a few weeks off. The bartender, who allowed me to make my own drinks, had been bugging us to cover it so I learned it for him. I've done it twice since then. One time I nailed the highest notes, one time a faltered. Definitely not an easy song, but a lot of fun.
I've been trying to get my band to do this, but the singer is a bit hesitant. He's got a high-pitched voice, but this would be really pushing it.
I've sung "your love" in multiple bands. My current band does Zevon's 'poor poor pitiful me.' It really goes over well . . . others like werewolves of london or lawyers, guns, and money, I find too repetitive.
Personally and without irony I would love to cover "Rock me Amadeus."
A friend's band does a killer cover of Warewolves of London. You're right though. WZ is rarely covered.
We do this as well. The guitar player starts out like the original but but each time the music stops for the guitar solo our guitar player starts improvising with hammer ons and chords. It's always a crowd pleaser.
We do a whole early Pink Floyd set starting with Astronomy Domine, Corporal Clegg, Bike, Let There Be More Light, Matilda Mother and Flaming.

Oh geez, I remember playing that tune in a cover band when I was 16 or 17 years old...which would have been only a year or two after the original was released.
