Ice - so sorry you're having to go through this. I very much empathize with you, as I will be undergoing the same damn thing soon. I was recently diagnosed with severe arthritis of the neck - I have collapsed discs at 7 and 9, and the resulting pinched nerve feels like I have a knife stuck in my back, my left arm is constantly numb, it's very painful to play guitar or bass while sitting (at least I can still play standing), and I haven't been able to play my drum kit in months...
I hope your procedure goes well, and God bless you - I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Sorry you have to deal with this, hopefully after the surgery it will all just be a bad memory. Almost nothing worse than neck and back pain. Best of luck with everything.

All the best Ice! I had C5 and C6 done (while evacuated in Houston from Katrina with a one month old). It is a great feeling to wake up and that pain be gone though. It is scary but well worth it!

As a young guy who's had ongoing back pain since 2010, I feel for you, man! Good luck with the procedure and let us all know how it goes! I'm sure you'll be feeling a lot better afterwards and it'll all be worth it.

Been there myself. Mine was lower back L3-S1. I still can't feel my left foot from nerve damage. But that was due to 3 years of trying everything BUT surgery and disk fragments laying on the nerves and calcifying the nerve and fragments together. Mine was a career ender as a Firefighter Paramedic. But my church family was there for me. Visits everyday from small group friends, meals at the house for my wife and family while I was in the hospital. Lean on friends and family. I will send the prayers your way. God will make sure everything goes as it should. Blessings brother.

I can't say it better. Truly hope all goes well and you are able be without pain. I believe JPS has had back surgery. Not sure if its the same type of procedure that you are having, but I know that a positive mental attitude was a big factor in his recovery.

Did someone say white whale. The white euro is in the house. All I have to say is oh my. This thing plays way sweet super low action. Mega steal at 550. Gotta thank my GC guy. He is awesome also found me a sweet eden 410 xlt. This bass sounds and plays awesome. Still prolly gonna swap out the pre in this with the haz clone I have. But oh my not sure about pup swap yet. Wish that damn white ns2a was cheaper on ebay. I have white spector gas.

Bass name is the blizzard. Ill load up some pics tomm.

that is true. I guess I figured that if he could figure out how to wire the pup to the vol and blend pots, that the rest could be figured out. I usually just use trial and error lol

My god cant get over how easy it is to play. Love my ns20004 but man itwsso effort free on this bass. Im excited especially at the price I got it for. And when lookin it over again yeah its kinda hacked but has lots of character. Lmao.

May keep the emgs in it and use sds for something else but gotta see what preamp is. If its pump ill prolly take it out and use hazlab clone I got. Anybody make the change and have some comparison ideas. Haz clone vs tone pump.

I went from the TP to a MM114 (Haz Clone) in my NS2A. They both sounded great. I still have the MM114 in today. I just preferred it. It was hard to compare since I did the switch over a few days in my spare time. I put the TP in my Legend 5. I think eventually I would like another NS2A with a TP in it so I have one of each. I think the MM114 had a little more something special going on in the mids that I really liked. Both are great pre's though. Win/Win no matter what you do.

If it makes you feel better, I had my chest cut open and my ribs sawed in half for an 8 hour long heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm (my heart was "frozen" the whole time while a machine was pumping blood for me).

But that wasn't the bad thing: anesthesia affects everyone differently, much more so during heart surgery and I "lost it" for a few days...

- The day after my surgery, I got up, PULLED all the tubes attached to me and said, "If they won't start this surgery, I'm leaving!" and attempted to walk out. They had to get a bunch of people to restrain me (doctor said to me later, "you're a lot stronger than you look!")

- Didn't recognize my wife for 3 whole days. The first day she walks in and I said, "Who the hell are you?". 2nd day, I kept calling her by my younger daughter's name!

- I threw a kiss at a nurse and flirted with her IN FRONT of the in-laws!

- In a panic, I got up, LIFTED my gown and started screaming, "they cut off my penis, they cut off my penis!" (it was the catheter dangling).

- I called a nurse a "bitch" (I'm not very aggressive or confrontational in "real life").

- I saw dead people. No, seriously, I looked to the other side of my room and asked the wife, "Why are those children here? Kids aren't supposed to be on this floor" and she looked over and said, "there's no one there". I swear, and to this day I can still remember, I saw a lady with 3 kids around her clear as day!

And lots of other wacky behaviour from me. Now, I got all this from the family, I only remember the "hallucination", but it made for some good laughs afterwards - well, after I got over the embarrassment of it all, hehe. The doctor said I should stay real far away from drugs (not that I ever touch the stuff mind you, but he said if I had this reaction to anesthesia...), hehe.

But really, after that surgery I feel like I could handle anything. I used to get a little squirmish when having blood taken but now it's like, "Please, I've had my CHEST CARVED OPEN And I've SEEN THINGS MAN!!!!!" And soon after I was back at work, back to playing bass, working out and just life as usual.

So good luck and think happy positive thoughts. It will be over and done before you know it and you'll be back to life as usual, too - and pain free which is the important thing.
