Thunderbird Club

It takes two Canadian tower cranes to make one US tower cranes or something like that. Still pretty impressive.

Seattle used to have more tower cranes than anywhere except Dubai. Not any more.
A few years ago Sydney was claiming to have the most cranes working. No clue if it was true but the pollies were spruiking it and the news kept repeating it. As they do.

Is it that you don’t see the differences? I know guys that only acknowledge Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Orange and Purple as legitimate names for colours.

Yeah, the shades get me. I can tell the traffic lights apart but if a car drives by I may say ‘that’s a nice blue car’ and the fam will correct me to ‘no that’s purple’ or ‘no that’s turquoise’ or something like that.
A test picked me out as red/green colourblind. Coincidentally or not, one of my NRL teams biggest rivals wears red & green hoops*, I used to see the jerseys but not really distinguish the hoops they sort of just blended together.

(* officially Cardinal & Myrtle hoops)
(Owned by Russell Crowe, James Packer & the bloke that started Atlassian now, and more successful than my team. Worst luck.)

You have this backwards re the Thunderbird, 7ender complained about the Reverse, the Non Reverse was the redesign.

I think that has been debunked - (urban legend etc)... from what I've recently read - the gen1 was unsuccessful sales-wise and the redesign (NR) was an attempt to rectify the issue... which wasn't as successful as hoped, so also was short-lived. Apparently ahead of its time...

I have no idea if it's safe for any finishes but when I went searching for double sided tape years ago, it came down to Scotch which is made by 3M.

It worked fairly well but it loses it's tacked when exposed to the air. If you don't use it for while in between uses just fold about a 1/4" over onto itself and rewrap the roll for economy.

They sell two versions - permanent and non-permenant. I've not tried it in this application, but I think the non-permenant would work as long as you prepared both pg and body surfaces with alcohol before taping. (on both surfaces) Permenant is pretty hard to remove if applied correctly. I use it in place of clamps when routing bodies - done correctly it stays put but is sometimes hard to separate the (thicker) template. I can imagine a pg might offer a fight to remove.

Huh?
What color is the dress? :roflmao:

What dress, I’m fixating on the legs.
ok, the dress - looks cobalt blue and emerald green (maybe some black backing as well). But the green might just be the reflection of the bass in the sequins.

I really am having picture problems because it looks gold to me.
but I’m notoriously bad with identifying colours.
It's ok Geoff.

I have zero issues with colors and shades and hues, but I am viewing the vintage Inverness Green with an iPad, who knows how accurate that is. Looks like faded gold to me. Lighting and backgrounds play a huge part in color accuracy of photos.

Here’s four pics of Shoreline Gold taken under different lighting and background conditions with different cameras by different people…
This one has a slight greenish tint

This one almost looks Cream colored or aged white

Yep - it is tricky getting a representative/accurate pic of certain finishes. Add to that there is no consistency in "Shoreline Gold", "Fiesta Red", Inverness Green" or any other Gibson or Fender colour. Any "classic" colour has a myriad of contemporary versions based on time, materials, and interpretation. It's nearly impossible to have/provide a 'standard' so any classic vintage colour will be seen as an 'ideal' to every eye, which will be different. As a base example - there are many versions of Olympic White.

Firemist Gold Metallic - as interpreted by Pat Wilkins... it floated my boat...

This was my 1987 Freightliner. According to its spec sheet, it was Dupont Imron "Trumpet Gold". Depending on lighting, it could look green-ish, sorta gray, and whatever else.(Sorry 'bout the raggedy-@$$ trailer. That belonged to the company). I wouldn't object to 2021 NR in that colo(u)r.
