My all time favorite! It tastes like the SF bay air on a cold night!

Just as long as it isn't SF Bay air the last few days - because of the horrendous fires up north the air here is pretty smoky.

Was Dude Pit a blog? If so, in TB? Or was it a place? Comes up every so often and I always wonder..
Did it go away?..

Way back in the olden days of the internets there were several smaller bass forums (BunnyBass and The Dude Pit were two that I frequented) alongside TB. TalkBass was always the largest even back then. The Dude Pit was a fun place with lots of characters (kind of like this club) and that is where most Gibson bass guys seemed to end up. That is where I met Scott (GOT) and Mark/Veronica and several others that turn up on here. I actually met Mark on a work trip to Seattle (but Veronica was a no-show) thanks to the Dude Pit. I also met one of my closest friends at the Dude Pit when it turned out we lived very close to each other. We still hang out regularly.
The Last Bass Outpost spun off when the Dude Pit died. The Last Bass Outpost is a low key forum with a TON of available knowledge from the members. Overall a very friendly spot unlike some forums can be.

So to answer your question: It was a bass forum like TB, but different.

Somewhere out there is a modified Thunderbird with a fretless fingerboard and a flame maple face. If I am remembering correctly it belonged to a bassist that played for Skinny Puppy. I want to say it was a 70's reissue that had a maple cap added and converted to fretless. I have not seen the bass in a long time and cannot find pictures, but our Queen or GOT may remember it from the Dude Pit days. I had a pic saved on an old computer but odds of finding it are almost zilch. So this post doesn't help you at all.

I vaguely remember this bass being discussed but I am sorry I don't have a picture of it.

I get so ticked off sometimes. I try to play one of my Birds at gigs with this band and they say "put that toy away and play a real bass"!! Aaaarrgghhh!!!
But it's perfectly ok for one of the guitarists to play a 68 ES335?
So annoying.....if it wasn't for the pay..

I never left... I just gave up membership #'s to "clubs" on TB. Simply having an attachment to certain clubs apparently gets you treated a certain way. I'm a member of TB.com to enjoy talking about basses and music, etc. not to be branded based on what I buy/ own/ like or who I choose to discuss it with

Another option. Show up with a Daisy Rock bass as a backup. I would rock one of those just for the heck of it, and especially if it offended somebody who needed to be offended.
