It actually does a LOT more than just a tube-sim type of thing. You can use it either as an overdrive, a distortion (since it has both circuits), a boost, or a simple EQ. It's also got the Funkulator mid-scoop in it, so you could use it for slap bass as well.

And I agree on the Vapor Trail.

hi Jon! Have you been able to get a grindy, trebly tone out of the Grizzly bass, I'm thinking of the bass tone found in Phil Wickham's song "this is amazing grace". I love the tube sim on the grizzly but am looking for trebly grind as well. Thanks.

As a general matter I'm looking forward to completing my pedalboard a d using it for the first time next week. I'll be running my Bongo through a Keeley Bassist Comp, a Grizzly Bass, and a Aguilar Filter. I will probably change out the filter for a Chorus and or delay. Mounted on a PT Nano and powered by a Volto. my band is a 3 piece consisting of myself on bass, my wife on keys and vocals, and a drummer. I'll play acoustic guitar every now and again. We play 2 services a week. We get to do an hour of music each time (8-10 songs) so I'm hoping these get a lot of use. Pictures to come soon.

I just got a beatbuddy to use in church for services when our drummer isn't around. I'll have to make some kind of pedal board for that - it's got a main pedal plus a footswitch. It's a bit more complicated than just 'mash once and play' because it works with multiple drum loops per song.

Also one user posted a mod where he added another sustain (momentary) footswitch so the main pedal could be put in a higher location. Having the ability to separate the main box from the pedals means I don't have to bend over to fiddle with the settings but can still do all the operations with my feet while I'm playing.

Nice! How much do you actually use the synth stuff at church? When I had the Markbass I had a few songs I would use it for, but not much.

not crazy amounts. Generally the synth stuff is more for my original music. But if we are down a keyboard player I will tinker with it a bit more in choruses or a bridge. Mainly my go to pedals are the XXL (overdrive), POG2 (for organ or a bit of chorus) and the Sub T (analog octave). Saying that it all depends on the set list and the vibe if the service.

Pedal GAS free at last! I also like that I can easily peel off the Noble to use it as a standalone unit for those occasions that I want to keep it really simple. I'll get use use it on WT on the 20th (and the rehearsal a few days before)

The Noble really is amazing isn't it?? Love that it powers my whole board as well. Have been thinking of trying the Cali76...

Blow your mind amazing! It's so clean and warm (not a contradiction). The Cali has been a great add, and the CB is at a size I could use.

Just posted this over in another thread. Excited to play for service for the first time in over a year. Our new Preachers wife( vocals, piano, guitar) found out I played... Says to me " I'm leading worship this Sunday, you have to play, I need bass"
Can't argue with that. My apologies for the miniscule board, had to sell my WayHuge AquaPuss, and Green Rhino, plus my MXR Analog chorus for funds. But will be incorporated again in the near future.

My Main board for Cover/Original gigs revolves around a G50/VT Bass deluxe/MS-60B etc and I really have no need for most of this with a worship set up. I was using a B3 (and still do at times) but most of my patches are set up to drive a Powered wedge.

I put this together when I purchased a Radial SB-2. It works great! I had tried to sell the Compressor, but there was no interest so put it to use. The board is home made, and the size of a Nano, so it fits in my Tick on my Mono M80. I either power it with a pedal Juice battery, or 1 spot. I'm going direct using 1964ears Qi's

Question about this one, what's the black "pad" that the pedals are on? Looks as the pedals will stick to it as if it were Velcro like.
Also, I've looked into the American Sound... How do you like the EQ, and drive sound? I dig that stage bug as well, I see one on my soon to be home made small board.

The American is awesome! Bass and Treble seem to be centered around very bass friendly freqs, and the centre of the mid changes with the voicing. Really like the drive sound of the American. quite similar to the VT Bass depending on where you centre the voice knob.

I might have posted these in the Homemade Pedal board section, or it might be on an Australian Bass forum. Can't remember.

So the black pad is some 10mm x 125mm (3/8" x 5") timber board covered in black loop marine carpet, and the hook velcro sticks really well to it. I decided to make a few boards since it was so cheap. I made two PT Nano size boards (my worship board and the Aguilar board) a PT mini size, and another 2 PT junior sized board to fit a tool case that is available in our version of Home Depot. I put a "cable tray" on the front of the Nano and Mini boards to keep it tidy.

This is my second Suppa. Wren & Cuff sent me another. Great customer service. Sweet pedal but I actually am selling it. If you want it let me know. Just not my thing I guess. I'm going to rely on my barbershop and do a clean boost.

All of these items I used to make this Board are cheap items from Bunnings (The Australian version of Home Depot).

Pine Board
Marine Carpet
Aluminium Extrusion
Screws
Rubber Feet
Velcro


The rubber edge strip I got from a supplier of rubber products, but I wouldn't be surprised if Home Depot carry it. The rubber strip has dual duty as it helps keep the power cable in the channel as well as give the front of the board a finished look.
