your progression on amps

'65 Fender Bassman 50 with Fender 212 cab (sukt)
Peavey Mark IV with 1820 cab (not bad, really)
Peavey Combo 115 (kinda sukt)
Peavey Combo 115 (again, still kinda sukt)
Hartke 1155 combo (3500 head with one 15 and one 5, not bad)
Eden WT-300 and D-410XLT (now we're talkin')
Eden WT-800 with same D-410XLT plus D-210XLT (yes, this rules)
Aguilar DB750 with same Eden cabs (this rules too)
Walter Woods Ultra with same Eden cabs (still ruling here)

As best I can recall

Peavey 1x15 Combo (TKO?)
Peavey Mark III Head and 1810 Cab
Acoustic 360 and Cab
Acoustic 370 and JBL 2x15 Cab
Ampeg SVT (early 70's) and Cab (also used the JBL 2x15 with it)
Two New SVT Classic Heads and Two 8-10 Cabs
Two Ampeg SVT-II Pro heads in 16 space touring rack with two 8-10 Pro cabs in flight cases. Frickin' Killer Monster Rig.
SWR Stuff for about 6 - 8 months (Should have NEVER done it!) SM900's, Four Goliath III's, a couple 750x heads, two 8-10 cabs, two 6-10 cabs. **note** not all at once. Just never could really find what I was looking for.

Which is when...

I hooked up with Eden.

For the past threee years my rig has been the following:

9 Space Kriz Kraft Rack
Furman PL-Pro
Eden Navigator Preamp
Eden WT-1000 Poweramp
SansAmp RBI Preamp
dbx166XL Compressor
Aphex 204 Aural Exciter (this is a must!)
Korg DTR-1000 Tuner

Two Eden D410XLT Cabs

Now I am looking for a lighter rig. Possibly the new Eden WT-1205, Thunderfunk TFB550, Schroeder Cabs, Accugroove Cabs. We'll see

My progression:
Hartke combo amp.
Hartke combo amp with a jbl powered sub(free gear from my dads old office, they made high end simulators for theme parks)
Carvin r600 210 and 115
Epifani UL410, Demeter HBP-1, QSCplx1602
Epifani Ul410, Aguilar Db750.

After that i throw in either an old acoustic or fender bassman with the epi...but soon i'll have Bergantino NV cabs!!!! muahahahaha

well it isnt that impressive...

Nemesis NC410P combo
EBS HD350+EBS410

I love what i got now.. the ebs amp is awesome, really loud and it creates almost any sound you can imagine.. gets real close to tube character as well.

i used a GT-6B with the nemesis, but it's collecting dust now.. i use a multidrive for distorted stuff.. that's it :)

Man, this brings back some memories.....

Mid 70's to early 80's
Kingston p.o.s
Vox Buckingham (with chrome rack...I wish I still had it)
Peavey Bass head with 2-15 cab
Lab Series L2 (with Lab Series 2-15 bottom)
Peavey CS200/Peavey Preamp/Peavey 118 folded horn
Traynor Bloc80 (I traded in the big rig for a small combo amp because I stopped playing)

Fast Forward 20 years to the year 2000 and it starts all over again.......
Peavey Combo 210TX/Peavey 115 BW
Peavey Firebass 700/Peavey 410TX/Peavey 115 BW
Eden Metro/Eden 410XLT
Demeter VTBP 210S preamp/Stewart 1.6 amp/Eden 410XLT/Aguilar GS212
Aguilar DB659 preamp/Stewart 1.6 amp/two Aguilar GS212's
Aguilar DB750/two Aguilar GS212's
(Plus I have my Mesa Walkabout Scout for the smaller venues)

I would do the same exercise with my basses, but my computer doesn't have enough memory!!

I'm sure I'll leave a few out, but here goes:

Harmony 1x15 combo (30-50 watts?)
Unknown 50 watt tube head and 2x12
mid 60s Fender bassman and 2x12
Unknown 60 watt tube head and 2x15
Sunn Coliseum (300 watt) w/ 2x18 (big jump is sound and power here)
Sunn Coliseum w 2x15 EV cabinet (better clarity)
Polytone Pro (240 watt) with 1x15 and 2x8 (playing more jazz)
2 Polytone Pros each w/ 1x15 & 2x8 for mix of rock and jazz
Current =

92' EB/MM SRay & Yamaha BB450

Ooh, memory check time! It all started around 1976...

Ampeg B-100 (solid state 1x10 combo)
Acoustic 150 head (?watts) over Acoustic 301 cab (1x18)
Acoustic 360 head over Acoustic 361 cabinet
70's Ampeg SVT head over Ampeg 8x10 coffin cab
Second 70's SVT head over Ampeg 8x10 fridge cab

When I exited my roadie era, I sold my SVT heads and the coffin cab (doh!!). I moved to:
Acoustic 370 head + SVT
AMP BH-420 + SVT

I then entered my rack rig era. Partial list of rack modules owned:
Alembic F2B (kept for 20 years)
AMP SL1 (or whatever the preamp was called)
Yamaha PB-1 (didn't like it)
Ashly BP-41
Various Ashly & DBX compressors
TC electronics parametric eq/preamp (still have)
Crown MicroTech 1200 amp (awesome...)
MosValve 500 amp

Post-SVT speakers owned:
Guild-Hartke 4x10 (x2)
EV 2x15 cabs (x2)
Marshall 4x12 cabs (x2) (LOUD!)
EV 4x10
Mesa/Boogie 2x10 + Mesa/Boogie 1x18
Ampeg 2x10 (over the Boogie 2x10)
SWR Goliath Jr. (x2)
